The Eastron SDM230 Modbus wattmeter is an energy meter that is used to know precisely the electricity consumption that we require from our installation. The meter communicates this to the grid connection inverter via the Modbus protocol. This model of the Eastron brand is compatible with the Kostal Piko MP Plus and Growatt inverters that we offer on our website. Both devices must be connected so that the inverter has the appropriate readings of the power that we are requiring in our installation.

Thanks to the measurement of electricity consumption and the rapid communication of the interface, the inverter is able to limit the power to what we are consuming at that moment.

It is a device that allows, if desired, not to pour excess solar production into the grid that we are not using (zero input). It is also used to be able to measure the energy needs we have and, thanks to the fact that the inverter knows what we are capable of producing, we will have a comparison between the energy produced and the energy required.
