The service battery is the one that powers the living area of a motorhome: fridge, lights, water pump, heater and inverter. Here you will find the lithium models suited to that job, from Litio Store 12V units of 50Ah to 300Ah to Victron Energy Lithium SuperPack, including Bluetooth and under-seat versions.

Sizing starts from daily consumption in Ah: a compressor fridge draws 40-60Ah a day, a diesel heater 10-20Ah. Unlike lead-acid, a LiFePO4 can be discharged almost fully, so 100Ah of lithium is worth about 200Ah of lead.

Things to check: BMS current against inverter power, built-in heating for winter travel, and whether the on-board charger supports a lithium profile.
