Communication is where installations stall most often: a BMS and an inverter can be electrically compatible and still not talk, because it takes the right cable with the right pinout. Standard network cables often have pins the wrong way round for the manufacturers' CAN protocols.

Always use the cable named in the inverter manual and do not swap it for a generic patch cord.
