Power optimisers for solar systems with shading or several roof orientations: Tigo TS4-A-O at 700W and TS4-X-O at 800W with MC4 connectors, Huawei SUN2000-600W-P at 600W with Rapid Shutdown, plus complete SolarEdge kits with inverter and optimisers.

An optimiser brings maximum power point tracking down to the single module: with a chimney, an aerial or a tree shading part of the string, the production recovered reaches 10-25%. It also adds panel-level rapid shutdown, often asked for by the fire service.

When choosing, check module power and Isc against the limits of the optimiser, and compatibility: SolarEdge units work only with SolarEdge inverters, Tigo is universal.
