Three-phase is what you need when the meter is three-phase: it spreads the load across the three phases and is the only realistic option above 6kW of available power on many supplies. On models with three-phase backup, look at the power per phase and not just the total, because an unbalanced load such as a single-phase pump sits on one phase alone.

Check the battery voltage supported too, 48V or high voltage: that choice fixes which storage modules will work.
