DC-DC kits for alternator charging on motorhomes, converted lorries and boats: 12V-12V at 30A, 50A and 70A with the Victron Energy Orion XS, and 24V-12V at 30A with the Orion-Tr Smart for a 24V alternator and 12V services.

The kit is not just the charger: it brings cable sized for the current, fuses on both sides and the engine-running enable wire. It is the part most often underrated, because a 50A DC-DC on 10mm² cable runs hot and drops voltage.

Size it on the current: as a guide, stay under 40-50% of what the alternator can give.
