In commercial work the payback depends on which problem is being solved: shaving demand peaks lowers the bill on contracted power, solar self-consumption cuts bought energy, backup avoids production stoppages. The three goals lead to different power to energy ratios.

Cooling, fire protection, IP rating and the certification of the inverter or PCS it pairs with all need assessing.
