Current on every outgoing circuit and on the main incomer with split-core clamp meters, fitted without disconnecting the cables and without shutting down the plant. Meters self-powered from the line, LoRaWAN radio transmission, load profiles and thresholds from the app and from a PC.
What it does
- Each meter reads the RMS current of its own circuit, with 1% accuracy above 5 A, and sends it by radio to the gateway mounted in the panel. The transmission interval is 10 minutes and can be set from 1 minute to 24 hours.
- Besides the instantaneous value, the meters totalise ampere-hours. By setting the voltage and cosφ of the circuit they also calculate energy in kWh: this is an estimate suitable for allocating consumption between departments and cost centres, not a billing-grade measurement.
- The three-clamp meters read the three phases at the same moment: you see the imbalance between phases and, on the main incomer, the comparison between total draw and the sum of the outgoing circuits.
- Current thresholds are set for each circuit: the notification arrives when a load draws more than expected, when a circuit stays under load while the plant is idle, or when a circuit that should be running stops.
- The three-phase meters come with a temperature probe on a 1 m cable, to be fixed onto a cable to keep its heating under control.
- Load profiles, history and notifications can be consulted from a smartphone and from a PC: a data base for the energy audit and for a management system to ISO 50001.

Top-quality Milesight devices with the manufacturer's warranty. No batteries to replace: the meters are powered by the current of the circuit they are fitted on; the gateway is mains powered, via USB-C at 5 V or PoE.
Available sizes
The size is selected above, together with version and connectivity. The diagram, the photo and the table above show the «16 circuits + main incomer» size; with the other sizes only the quantities of the devices listed below change, the rest of the kit is identical.
- 8 circuits + main incomer: 4 clamp current meters
- 16 circuits + main incomer: 8 clamp current meters, 4 clamp current meters up to 100 A
- 24 circuits + main incomer: 12 clamp current meters, 8 clamp current meters up to 100 A

- For those who already have DIN-rail space, a network cable and panel material
- Everything in the basic version
- 868 MHz antenna with magnetic base and 3 m of cable, to be placed outside the metal panel
- DIN rail and terminal block to set up the gateway compartment
- 5 m Ethernet cable for the connection to the switch

Before you order
Do you have to switch off the power to fit the meters?
No. The clamps are split-core and close around the conductor without disconnecting it: there are no terminals to open and no circuits to interrupt. The work does however take place inside a live panel: it must be entrusted to an electrician qualified for this kind of job, following the safety procedures of the plant.
Is an internet connection needed in the panel room?
It is needed at the point where the gateway is fitted: a network socket or the coverage of the company Wi-Fi. The meters do not use Wi-Fi, they talk to the gateway by radio. If the network does not reach the panel room, the version with a 4G gateway is available, which requires a data SIM (not included, any operator, traffic below 1 GB a month). It is selected when ordering.
Does the radio signal get out of a metal panel?
The metal enclosure attenuates the signal: this is why the gateway antenna is brought outside, with the magnetic base resting on the top of the panel. With the meters in the same panel, or in panels in the same room, the distance is a few metres. For the DIN-rail gateway the manufacturer states up to 2 km in urban areas and 15 km in open country; inside a plant the range depends on walls, floors and metal structures. For sub-panels in distant departments a second gateway is considered. One gateway handles hundreds of devices.
Do they measure energy or only current?
They measure current, with 1% accuracy above 5 A, and totalise ampere-hours. The kWh are calculated by the meter from the voltage and the cosφ that you set for each circuit: the figure is suitable for the internal allocation of consumption and for comparing periods, it does not replace a billing meter or a power analyser.
How are the meters distributed over 16 circuits?
Each single clamp measures one conductor: a single-phase circuit, or one phase of a balanced three-phase circuit such as a motor. Each three-clamp meter reads a complete three-phase circuit or three single-phase circuits. A typical split is: 12 circuits on the single clamps, one large three-phase outgoing circuit on the first 500 A meter, three single-phase circuits or a second three-phase outgoing circuit on the second, the main incomer on the 1,000 A meter. If many circuits are unbalanced three-phase, three clamps per circuit are needed: tell us before ordering.
What happens on circuits with little load or often idle?
The meters draw their power from the current flowing in the conductor and require a minimum of 1.5 A (100 A model), 3 A (250 A), 5 A (500 A) and 10 A (1,000 A). When the current stops they keep working for about 12 hours. On circuits that stay idle for longer, or that work below the minimum, a USB-C 5 V power adapter is connected.
I have more circuits or more than one panel
The kit is configured around the panel: meters of the required rating are added, gateway and platform stay the same. Among the product options you will find the 24 and 32 circuit sizes; for different situations write to us from the contacts section giving the number of circuits, the breaker ratings, which circuits are three-phase and how many panels: we will send you the make-up and the quotation for the adapted kit.
Will the conductors of my panel fit through the clamps?
The opening is 16 mm on the 100 and 250 A models, 36.5 mm on the 500 A one and 51 mm on the 1,000 A one. It is worth checking the cable diameter in advance, especially on the main incomer. If the main incomer is made of busbars or exceeds 1,000 A, write to us from the contacts section before ordering.
Where is the data consulted and are there any fees?
On the manufacturer's app and portal, from a smartphone and a PC, with charts, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. Where there is an energy monitoring system, a SCADA or a management system, the gateway can also send the data to that system (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.
What happens if the internet is down?
The meters keep measuring and totalising the ampere-hours: when the line is restored the cumulative total resumes up to date, while the detail of the readings for the period without a connection may be incomplete. The system only reads: it does not act in any way on the breakers and protective devices of the panel.
