What it does
- Each rack has a sensor with a display and two PT100 probes, one on the highest module and one on the lowest: it reads the two temperatures every 10 minutes and warns when the set threshold is exceeded; comparing the two probes shows whether the rack is heating unevenly.
- Two temperature and humidity sensors, one high up and one low down, monitor the room climate and how the air conditioning is working.
- The sensing cable laid on the floor along the racks reports the presence of water at any point along its 3 m; the magnetic contact reports every opening of the door, with an immediate notification.
- The three-clamp meter on the generator set output reads the current of each phase: you see when the set is delivering, with what load and for how long, including during the periodic tests.
- The ultrasonic sensor on the tank measures the diesel level and warns below the minimum reserve.
- The controller in the panel reports up to four signals from the generator set panel to the app, for example set running, general alarm, mains failure and fuel reserve, and with its two relay outputs it commands start and stop through the remote start input.
- The gateway with a 4G modem takes everything to the cloud without going through the site network; history, charts and notifications are consulted from a smartphone and from a PC.

How it is installed
Gateway. On a 35 mm DIN rail or on the wall, in a service panel in the room. IP30, operation from -20 to +60 °C. Powered by USB-C at 5 V with the supplied power adapter, or by PoE. The data SIM must be inserted with the gateway switched off. The magnetic-base radio antenna must be brought outside the metal panel and stood vertically on a metal surface, high up and away from walls and obstacles; at least 50 cm must be left between the radio antenna and the 4G one.
Rack sensors. One sensor per rack, fixed to the wall next to the cabinet with screws and plugs, vertically and with the display below eye level; for the metal side of the cabinet an optional magnetic bracket is available. The two PT100 probes, with a 1.5-2 m cable, are held with clips and cable ties on the casing of the highest and of the lowest module, never on the terminals or on the busbars. Probe measuring range from -40 to +125 °C. Sensor body IP65.
Climate, flooding and door. Temperature and humidity sensors on the wall with screws or double-sided tape, one high up and one low down, away from the air conditioner outlet and from metal masses. Sensing cable laid on the floor along the foot of the racks and held with clips, without glue and without metal cable ties, out of the walkways; it cannot be extended and the connectors must stay dry. Magnetic contact on the inside of the door, with the two parts aligned no more than 20 mm apart.
Generator set. The three clamps of the meter, with a 36.5 mm opening and 1 m cables, each close around one phase of the set output, never phase and neutral together. The meter must be powered by USB-C at 5 V: with the set stopped no current flows and self-powering is not enough. The level sensor is mounted vertically on the top of the tank, on a flat surface, more than 30 cm from the walls, with no obstacles below and away from the filling neck; it measures from 0.25 to 5 m. The controller goes on a DIN rail in the generator set panel, powered at 5-24 V DC: inputs for dry contacts or 3-24 V DC signals, 3 A relays connected to the remote start input through interface relays.
Configuration. Rack, climate, flooding, door and level sensors are configured by NFC with a smartphone and the manufacturer's free app: thresholds, reading intervals, rack names. The current meter and the controller are configured from a PC with a USB-C cable and the manufacturer's free software; the gateway from a browser. No paid software is needed.
Documentation included. A written installation guide with the position of sensors and probes, the wiring diagram of the controller inputs and relays, the placement of the antennas and the switch-on sequence, plus initial configuration of the thresholds based on the battery type and the generator set characteristics given when ordering.

Before you order
The company network does not reach the room: how does the system communicate?
With the gateway's 4G modem. A data SIM is needed (not included, any operator, traffic below 1 GB a month) and mobile coverage at the point where the antenna is placed. The sensors use neither Wi-Fi nor the data network: they talk to the gateway by radio. If there is already a network socket in the room, the version with a gateway without 4G is available, at a lower cost: it is selected when ordering.
What is the radio coverage between the battery room, the generator set and the tank?
For the DIN-rail gateway the manufacturer states up to 2 km in urban areas and 15 km in open country. On a real site, concrete walls, fire doors and metal cabinets matter: this is why the gateway antennas are brought outside the panel. A generator set and a tank in the yard or in a nearby room are normally covered by the same gateway. One gateway handles hundreds of devices.
Does it replace the BMS or the fire detection system?
No. The BMS protects the batteries and fire detection remains the one provided for by the fire safety design. The kit adds independent surveillance: rack temperatures measured from the outside, room climate, water on the floor, door, generator set status. The devices are not certified for areas classified as explosion risk: the position of each one must be checked with the person responsible for the installation.
Which generator sets does the remote start work with?
With sets whose control panel has a contact remote start input and status or alarm outputs as dry contacts or at 3-24 V DC, as on most automatic panels. The command comes from the app through the gateway and takes a few seconds. The kit does not replace the automatic mains-generator changeover: on mains failure the set still starts with the logic of its own panel. Generator set, panel and tank are not included.
Is the level sensor suitable for my tank?
It measures the distance to the diesel surface from above, from 0.25 to 5 m: the maximum level must stay at least 25 cm from the sensor. It requires an opening on the top with a flat surface, more than 30 cm from the walls and with no internal obstacles below the sensor; domed tops disturb the measurement, so on horizontal cylindrical tanks the manhole or a free filling neck is used. It works from -15 to +60 °C. For tanks higher than 5 m there is the 10 m version: ask for it from the contacts section.
I have more than 3 racks or a second generator set
The kit is configured around the site: for each extra rack a two-channel sensor and two probes are added, gateway and platform stay the same. Among the product options you will find the 5 and 8 rack sizes; for a second generator set, more rooms or different tanks write to us from the contacts section giving the number of racks, the battery type and the generator set characteristics: we will send you the make-up and the quotation for the adapted kit.
Battery life
The rack sensors have two replaceable lithium batteries with a stated life of more than 2.7 years; alternatively they are permanently powered from USB-C. Climate, flood and level sensors reach up to 10 years with one reading every 10 minutes at 25 °C; the door contact about 5 years. The charge level is visible in the app. Gateway, controller and current meter are mains powered.
Where is the data consulted and are there any fees?
On the manufacturer's app and portal, from a smartphone and a PC, with charts, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. Where there is a site supervision system, a SCADA or a maintenance management system, the gateway can also send the data to that system (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.
What happens if there is no 4G coverage?
The sensors keep measuring. The rack ones store up to 10,000 readings and the level sensor 1,000: they retransmit them when the connection returns. While the connection is missing, notifications are not sent and commands from the app do not reach the generator set, which stays governed by its own panel and by the local controls. The rack sensors still show the temperature on the display.
Is an electrician needed?
Not for the battery-powered sensors: they are fixed with screws, clips, cable ties or double-sided tape. An electrician is however needed for the gateway and the controller in the panel and for the clamps on the set output, and the technician who looks after the generator set for the connection to the remote start input and to the alarm contacts.
