Shelly smart bathroom kit against damp, windowless bathroom
For internal bathrooms with no window: the Shelly H&T Gen3 measures the humidity and the Shelly 1PM Gen3 switches the extractor fan on when it is needed and off once the air is dry again. What it does
- The H&T Gen3 measures temperature and humidity: after a shower, once the set threshold is passed, the 1PM Gen3 switches the extractor fan on.
- Once the humidity is back below the threshold, the extractor fan switches off by itself, after a minimum run time if you set one.
- The BLU Motion detects presence: it can run the extractor fan for a few minutes every time someone comes in, which also helps with smells.
- The Flood S Gen4 on the floor, near the shower, the washing machine or the sanitary fittings, reports water with a notification.
- The 1PM Gen3 measures the extractor fan's consumption and acts as the Bluetooth bridge for the BLU sensor.
- The existing wall switch still operates the extractor fan by hand.

How to install it
Wi-Fi network. The kit has no hub: the 1PM Gen3, the H&T Gen3 and the Flood S Gen4 connect to the home router on the 2.4 GHz network, while the BLU Motion talks over Bluetooth to the 1PM Gen3, which acts as the bridge. Check the Wi-Fi coverage in the bathroom: tiled walls and internal bathrooms reduce it. In the Shelly app you create the bathroom room.
Extractor fan relay. The Shelly 1PM Gen3 is fitted on the extractor fan line, in the switch back box or in the bathroom junction box, and the existing switch is wired to its input for manual control. The 230V connections must be made by qualified personnel with the system isolated. The relay goes outside the wet zones, in line with the rules for bathrooms.
Accessories and sensors. The kit includes the Wago lever connectors for wiring the module and the lithium AA cells for the H&T Gen3, which does not ship with batteries. Optional: deep 503 back boxes if the module will not fit behind the switch insert, or a junction box instead. The H&T goes on the wall at mid height, the BLU Motion facing the door, the Flood on the floor.
App and pairing. In the Shelly app, add the 1PM Gen3, the H&T Gen3 and the Flood S Gen4 with the guided procedure. Then add the BLU Motion through the 1PM Gen3, which picks it up over Bluetooth, following the app's procedure. Switch the extractor fan on from the app, check its consumption and wet the Flood to confirm the notification.
Recommended automations. Create a scene: when humidity goes above the threshold, around 70% for example, switch the extractor fan on; when it falls below a lower threshold, switch it off. Add a timed run of a few minutes whenever the BLU Motion detects movement. Enable the leak notification and, at night, a time limit to keep the noise down.
Contents verified. 1PM Gen3, H&T Gen3 and Flood S Gen4 are Wi-Fi Shellys handled in the same app, and the 1PM Gen3 acts as the bridge for the BLU Motion. The kit includes the Wago connectors for wiring the module and a four-pack of lithium AA cells, because the H&T ships without batteries; as optional extras, deep 503 back boxes if the module will not fit behind the switch insert, or a junction box instead.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
No. The Wi-Fi devices connect to the home router and the BLU Motion sensor links over Bluetooth to the Shelly 1PM Gen3, which acts as the bridge. All you need is the Shelly app and a good Wi-Fi signal in the bathroom.
Does it work with Alexa, Google or Apple?
The kit is managed from the Shelly app, where the humidity scenes are created. Through Shelly's integrations the extractor fan can also be controlled from Alexa and Google Home, and the sensor data is visible there. Automations are best kept in the Shelly app.
Do you need an electrician?
For the relay, yes: the Shelly 1PM Gen3 is wired to the extractor fan's 230V line, a job for qualified personnel with the system isolated and away from the wet zones. The sensors you can fix yourself with screws or double-sided tape.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The wall switch keeps controlling the extractor fan. The devices stay reachable from the app on the home network; scenes handled in the cloud may not run, while actions configured locally on the devices keep working, as stated by the manufacturer. Notifications resume once the line is back.
Does the motion sensor switch the light on as well?
Not with the kit's parts alone: the Shelly 1PM Gen3 has one channel and it drives the extractor fan. To switch the light on as you walk in you need a second Shelly relay on the lighting line, or a two-channel model. Write to us from the contacts section and we will tell you which one.
Are batteries included?
For the H&T Gen3, yes: the kit includes four lithium AA cells, because the sensor does not ship with batteries. The BLU Motion and the Flood S Gen4 run on the batteries the manufacturer specifies; the charge level of every sensor is shown in the app.
Can I add more devices?
Yes. You can add a relay for the light, more Flood sensors for the washing machine and the kitchen, or more BLU sensors. A second bathroom needs another relay on the extractor fan and a second humidity sensor.
