What it does
- The SNZB-02WD sensor, IP65 water-resistant, measures temperature and humidity and shows them on its display: you can read them without a phone.
- When the humidity goes above the threshold you set, the Zigbee plug switches the dehumidifier on; when it falls back, it switches it off.
- The water leak sensor sitting on the floor warns you on your phone at the first sign of seepage or flooding.
- The app shows how humidity moves over time, so you know whether to air the room, run a dehumidifier or look for a leak.
- You can also switch the dehumidifier on and off by hand, from the app or by voice.

How to install it
Bridge and network. The ZB Bridge Pro connects to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and goes in the part of the house closest to the cellar, for example on the ground floor above the stairs. Concrete floors and buried walls weaken the signal a great deal: the Zigbee plug, being mains powered, helps relay the signal to the sensors. Test reception before the final fitting.
Climate sensor and plug. The sensor with display fixes to the wall at about a metre and a half, away from the dehumidifier's airflow and from the door: that way it reads the room's air and not the appliance's. The Zigbee plug goes into the wall socket and the dehumidifier's plug into the smart plug, with no power strips in between.
Water leak sensor. The sensor sits flat on the floor, at the lowest point of the room, next to the drain, the boiler or the wall where the damp shows up. No cables are needed. If the floor is uneven, pick a spot where the water would collect first. Nothing in the kit needs wiring.
App and pairing. Install eWeLink, add the bridge and then pair the Zigbee devices one at a time: the plug first, since it strengthens the network, then the climate sensor and the water leak sensor. To pair them, hold the button down until the LED flashes. Give them clear names such as “cellar climate” and “dehumidifier”.
Recommended automations. Humidity above the threshold you set: plug on. Humidity a few points below that threshold: plug off, so the dehumidifier does not keep switching on and off. Water detected: immediate notification and, if the dehumidifier drains onto the floor, check the hose. High humidity for several days: notification to check ventilation and water ingress.
Contents verified. The climate sensor, the water leak sensor and the plug are all Sonoff Zigbee devices and pair with the ZB Bridge Pro included, in the same eWeLink app where you build the scenes between humidity and plug. The plug, being mains powered, also works as a Zigbee repeater towards the cellar. The kit needs no accessories: battery sensors and a plug-in socket, ready to put in place.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes, for the Zigbee devices: the Sonoff ZB Bridge Pro included in the kit links them to the home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and to the eWeLink app. Without the bridge the Zigbee sensors do not work. The bridge should go as close as possible to the cellar.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, through the eWeLink app: you link your eWeLink account to the Alexa skill or to the Google Home app and the devices show up there, ready for voice commands and routines. With Apple Home there is no direct integration that we can guarantee for every part of the kit.
Do you need an electrician?
No. The Zigbee plug goes into a wall socket and the sensors you can place yourself. You need a wall socket that takes the smart plug's Schuko pin pattern and is rated for the dehumidifier's power; otherwise use an adapter suited to the load.
Does any dehumidifier work?
You need a dehumidifier that restarts by itself when the power comes back, that is, one with a mechanical switch or with automatic restart after an interruption. Models with electronic buttons that stay off when the power returns will not come on with the smart plug. Check this on your own appliance first.
Does the signal reach the cellar?
It depends on the floors and the walls. Put the bridge on the storey closest to the cellar; the mains-powered Zigbee plug then repeats the signal towards the sensors. If the cellar is a long way off, add another mains-powered Zigbee device halfway: write to us through the contact section.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The sensors keep measuring and the display stays readable. Without internet you get no notifications and cannot control anything from outside the home; some scenes may keep running locally on the bridge as stated by the manufacturer. The dehumidifier can still be operated by hand.
Are batteries included?
The water leak sensor runs on a CR2477 cell and the climate sensor on the cell specified by the manufacturer, both supplied in the box. The charge level is shown in eWeLink: in a cold, damp room it is worth checking now and then.
Can I add devices?
Yes: more water leak sensors for the garage or the laundry, a door sensor on the cellar door or a second climate sensor for the basement room. The bridge handles many Sonoff Zigbee devices in the same app.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
