What it does
- The dry-contact module wires to the push-button input of the door motor: from the app you send the open or close pulse, just as you would with the wall button.
- The door sensor on the door tells you whether it is open or closed and sends a notification if it stays open longer than the time you choose.
- The motion sensor switches the garage light on through the 16A Zigbee relay when you come in and switches it off after a few minutes with no movement.
- The water leak sensor, placed on the floor near the boiler, the washing machine or at the lowest point, warns you on your phone as soon as it detects water.
- You can control the garage door and the light by voice and create scenes, for example the light coming on when the door opens in the evening.

How to install it
Bridge and network. The ZB Bridge Pro goes indoors, in a central spot and as close to the garage as possible, connected to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If the garage is far away or separated by thick walls, the light relay, being mains powered, helps carry the Zigbee signal to the sensors. Before fitting everything, test the signal at the final position.
Garage door and light. The MINI-D module wires to the push-button input on the motor's control unit, in parallel with the existing button, and is set to pulse mode in the app: every command is the same as one press of the button. The MINI ONE relay goes in line with the garage light. The 230V connections must be made by qualified personnel with the system isolated, following the wiring diagram from the motor manufacturer.
Sensors and wiring. The door sensor is fixed with double-sided tape: the part with the battery on the fixed frame, the magnet on the door, aligned when the door is shut. The motion sensor goes on the wall, at about two metres, facing the entrance. The water leak sensor simply sits on the floor. The Wago connectors are for the modules' joints; deep 503 back boxes or a junction box if the module will not fit behind the switch insert.
App and pairing. Install eWeLink and add the bridge first. The Zigbee sensors and the MINI ONE relay pair with the bridge one at a time, holding the pairing button down until the LED flashes. The MINI-D is a Wi-Fi Matter device and is added straight into eWeLink. Give every device a clear name, for example “garage door” and “garage light”.
Recommended automations. Movement detected: light on, switching off after a few minutes with no movement. Door open for more than ten minutes: notification on your phone. Water detected: immediate notification. In the evening, the door opening: light on. If you connect eWeLink to Alexa or Google, you can say “open the garage” or include the door in your routines.
Contents verified. The door sensor, the motion sensor, the water leak sensor and the MINI ONE relay are Zigbee and pair with the ZB Bridge Pro; the MINI-D module works over Wi-Fi and Matter in the same eWeLink app, where all the devices can be combined into scenes. The Wago lever connectors for wiring the modules are included; the deep 503 back boxes and the Gewiss junction box are optional, for when the module will not fit behind the switch mechanism or you prefer to fit it in a junction box.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes, for the Zigbee devices: the Sonoff ZB Bridge Pro included in the kit links them to the home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and to the eWeLink app. Without the bridge the Zigbee sensors do not work. The MINI-D module for the garage door, on the other hand, is Wi-Fi and connects straight to the router.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, through the eWeLink app: you link your eWeLink account to the Alexa skill or to the Google Home app and the devices show up there, ready for voice commands and routines. With Apple Home there is no direct integration that we can guarantee for every part of the kit.
Do you need an electrician?
Yes. The garage-door module has to be wired to the motor's control unit and the light relay works at 230V: these are connections for qualified personnel with the system isolated. The sensors, on the other hand, you place yourself with the double-sided tape or simply on the floor, with no tools.
Does it work with any motorised garage door?
With motors that have a dry-contact push button input, which covers most control units for up-and-over, sectional and sliding doors. The module closes the contact for a moment, just like a push button. Before buying, check the motor manual for this input; if in doubt, write to us from the contact page.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The door can still be operated with the remote and the wall button, and the light with its switch. Without internet you get no notifications and cannot control anything from outside the house; some scenes may keep running locally on the bridge, as stated by the manufacturer. When the line comes back, everything resumes on its own.
Are batteries included?
The Sonoff sensors run on a coin cell, supplied in the box as stated by the manufacturer: the water leak sensor uses a CR2477. The charge level is shown in eWeLink, and when it drops it is worth replacing the cell before the sensor stops transmitting.
Can I add devices?
Yes. The bridge handles many Sonoff Zigbee devices: you can add a second sensor for a pedestrian door, another water leak sensor or a temperature sensor. The MINI-D handles one garage door: a second door needs another module.
