For anyone who struggles to reach switches and handles: with the Echo Show 5 you control four lighting points, two roller shutters and the front door lock by voice or from the screen. The Shelly modules go behind the existing switches, which carry on working, and the LOQED lock fits onto the cylinder. It can also be managed from the Shelly app.

What it does
- The Echo Show 5 takes voice commands and shows buttons for the lights and shutters on screen, which helps when speaking is an effort.
- The four Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 modules switch four lighting points on and off: "Alexa, turn on the bedroom light".
- The two Shelly 2PM Gen3 in shutter mode raise, lower and stop two motorised roller shutters.
- The LOQED Pure lock, fitted on the door's euro cylinder, locks and unlocks from the app and with Alexa, as the manufacturer specifies.
- With Alexa routines one command does several things, “good night” for example: lights off, shutters down, door locked.

How it is installed
Network and Alexa. No hub is needed: the Shelly modules and the lock connect to the home Wi-Fi, and the Echo Show 5 controls them through their Alexa integrations. Check that the Wi-Fi reaches every room and the area by the front door. Put the Echo Show 5 where the person spends most time, within arm's reach.
Lighting and roller-shutter modules. The Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 modules go in the switch box of each lighting point, the 2PM Gen3 units in the push-button box of each roller shutter, wired to the motor's up and down cores. The 230V wiring is for a qualified electrician with the supply isolated, following the manufacturer's diagrams. The existing switches keep working.
Lock and wiring. The LOQED Pure is fitted to the inside face of the door, on the euro cylinder, following the manufacturer's instructions: check first that the cylinder is compatible. The Wago connectors included are for the joints at the modules; deep 503 boxes or the junction box are used if the modules will not fit behind the switch inserts.
App and pairing. Install the Shelly app and add the modules; set the 2PM Gen3 to roller-shutter mode and calibrate the travel. Set the lock up with the manufacturer's app. In the Alexa app enable the Shelly and LOQED integrations and assign the devices to rooms, with names that are easy to say.
Recommended automations. A “good morning” routine: shutters up and the bedroom light on. A “good night” routine: lights off, shutters down, door locked. Shutters down at sunset. Pin the buttons you use most to the Echo Show 5 screen. To unlock the door by voice, Alexa requires a spoken PIN to be set up.
Contents verified. The Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 and 2PM Gen3 modules join the Wi-Fi and run in the Shelly app; together with the LOQED Pure lock they are controlled from an Echo Show 5 through the Alexa integrations, with no hub. The Wago lever connectors for the six modules' joints are included; the deep 503 boxes and the Gewiss junction box are optional, for when the modules will not fit behind the switch inserts.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
No. The Shelly modules and the lock connect to the home Wi-Fi and are controlled with Alexa through their own integrations. The Echo Show 5 is the voice and touchscreen control point, but it is not a hub for other protocols.
Can I open the door by voice?
Yes, as the lock manufacturer states: for safety Alexa asks you to set up a spoken PIN for unlocking. Locking by voice needs no code. The door also opens from the app, and the key always works.
Do you need an electrician?
Yes, for the lighting and roller-shutter modules: they run on 230V and must be fitted behind the switches and push-buttons by qualified personnel with the installation isolated. The lock goes on the cylinder with no electrical work; the Echo Show 5 just plugs in.
Do the shutters have to be motorised already?
Yes. The 2PM Gen3 modules drive roller shutters that have an electric motor and up/down push-buttons. Shutters on a manual strap have to be motorised first: that is a separate job, not part of the kit. Each module handles one shutter.
What happens if there is no internet?
Wall switches and push-buttons still control the lights and the shutters, and the door opens with the key. Without internet, Alexa voice commands do not work and nothing can be controlled from outside. The schedules saved on the Shelly modules stay active.
Can I add devices?
Yes: more modules for lights and roller shutters, smart sockets, a door sensor or a call button. Everything goes into the Shelly app and into the Alexa routines, with the same voice commands.
Are batteries included?
The Shelly modules and the Echo Show 5 run off the mains. The LOQED Pure lock is battery-powered: type, runtime and what is supplied are stated by the manufacturer on the Amazon listing. The charge level is checked in the lock's own app.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
