A busbar is sized on the total current passing through it, not on that of a single branch: four 80A loads on a 300A bar have plenty of margin, but if one of them is a 3000W inverter at 12V it alone draws around 250A on inrush.

The insulating cover is not cosmetic: on an exposed positive terminal a dropped spanner is enough to create a short circuit of thousands of amps.
