Manual and electronic battery isolators: the Victron Energy ON/OFF switch rated 275A for 12 to 48V systems, BatteryProtect 12/24V at 220A, BatteryProtect 48V at 100A and the Smart BatteryProtect 48V 100A with Bluetooth and app-configurable thresholds.

The two families serve different purposes: a manual isolator is for safety, when you work on the system or the vehicle stands for a long time; the BatteryProtect is automatic and disconnects loads when the voltage drops below the set threshold, before the BMS has to intervene.

They are installed on the positive and sized on the maximum current of the branch they protect.
