Collection: AC protection

AC-side protection for photovoltaic and storage installations: Noark Ex9L-N pure residual current devices in two-pole and four-pole versions rated 40A with 30mA and 100mA sensitivity, type A, and yellow-green earth cable of 6 and 16 mm2 in 100-metre coils.

Type A is the minimum on an installation with an inverter: type AC devices do not recognise the pulsating fault currents generated by conversion electronics and may fail to trip. Some inverters explicitly require type B, or type A with DC component monitoring.

The cross-section of the earth conductor follows that of the phase conductors.
