Sonoff Zigbee radiator valve kit, 6 radiators

Six Sonoff TRVZB thermostatic radiator heads and three SNZB-02P temperature sensors with a Zigbee hub, to set the temperature room by room on different schedules. The valve heads go on in place of the existing ones with no special tools and are controlled from the eWeLink app, by voice and with weekly programmes.

Who it's forLarge flats with radiator heating and valves ready for a thermostatic head.
What you controlThe temperature of six radiators, each with its own time schedule.
How you control iteWeLink app, Alexa and Google Home, weekly schedules and scenes driven by the sensors.
InstallationDIY: unscrew the old head and screw on the TRVZB, with the right adapter.

What it does

  • Each TRVZB opens and closes the radiator valve to hold the temperature set for that room.
  • In the eWeLink app you set a weekly schedule for each radiator: warmer in the morning and in the evening, for instance, and lower at night and when the house is empty.
  • The SNZB-02P sensors measure temperature and humidity away from the radiator, where people actually sit; an eWeLink scene can then set the valve from that reading.
  • The app lets you change the temperature of a room even when you are out, for example before heading home.
  • By voice with Alexa or Google: “turn the bedroom up to 21 degrees”.
  • The heads also work by hand, with the dial, and keep regulating on their own if the connection drops.
For a different number of radiators, to add boiler control, or for the same job with Aqara and Apple Home: write to us from the contact page and we will suggest the right kit.
Sonoff Zigbee thermostatic radiator valve kit (6 radiators): installation diagram
1Sonoff ZB Bridge Pro, the Zigbee hub, placed centrally near a USB socket: it links the heads and sensors to the eWeLink app.
2Sonoff TRVZB, thermostatic head fitted on the valve of each radiator. Six in the kit.
3Sonoff SNZB-02P, temperature and humidity sensor on the wall or on a piece of furniture, at mid height, away from the radiator. Three in the kit.

How to install it

Zigbee hub. The ZB Bridge Pro is USB-powered and goes in a central spot in the house, on a piece of furniture, away from metal enclosures. It is added to the eWeLink app by connecting it to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If the house is large or spread over several floors, check that the signal reaches the furthest radiators before finishing the installation.
Thermostatic radiator heads. Unscrew the existing head from the radiator's valve body and screw on the TRVZB, using one of the manufacturer's adapters for the most common valves if needed. The valve body has to be made for a thermostatic head: if the radiator only has a manual knob, a plumber will have to replace it. No electrical connections are required.
Sensors and batteries. The SNZB-02P sensors go at mid-height on an internal wall or on a piece of furniture, away from the radiator, windows and direct sun. Fit the batteries in the valve heads and in the sensors, following the polarity markings. The optional pack of spare CR2477 cells is there for when the sensors report a flat battery.
App and pairing. In the eWeLink app you open the hub, start the search for Zigbee devices and pair the heads and sensors one at a time, following the manufacturer's instructions. Then each device is assigned to its room and the heads are left to complete the valve stroke calibration, as the first-start procedure requires.
Recommended automations. Weekly schedule per room: 20 °C during the hours the room is in use, 17 °C at night and when the house is empty. In the bathroom, warmer in the morning. With an eWeLink scene, if the room sensor reads below the threshold the valve goes up by one degree; on your return, a command from the app brings everything back to comfort level.
Contents verified. The TRVZB valve heads and the SNZB-02P sensors are Sonoff Zigbee devices: they pair with the ZB Bridge Pro and are managed from the eWeLink app. The kit includes an optional pack of spare CR2477 batteries for the sensors, so they can be swapped straight away when they run flat.

Before you order

Do you need a hub?

Yes, and it is included: the TRVZB heads and SNZB-02P sensors are Zigbee and talk to the ZB Bridge Pro, which connects to the home Wi-Fi. Without the hub they cannot be managed from the app.

Will it fit my radiators?

It suits radiators whose valve body is made for a thermostatic head, the ones that currently have a head numbered 1 to 5. The TRVZB screws on directly or with one of the manufacturer's adapters; if the radiator only has a manual knob, the valve body has to be changed first.

Does it work with Alexa and Google?

Yes, through the eWeLink app: you link the eWeLink account to Alexa or Google Home and the heads appear as thermostats, showing both the set and the measured temperature. Voice commands go through the cloud, so internet is needed.

Do I need an electrician or a plumber?

Not for fitting: the head is unscrewed and screwed on by hand, with no need to drain the system and no electrical connections. A plumber is only needed if the radiator's valve body is not made for a thermostatic head and has to be replaced.

What happens if the internet goes down?

The heads carry on holding the set temperature and can be adjusted by hand with the dial. Remote app access, voice assistants and scenes that go through the eWeLink cloud resume once the connection is back.

Can I add more radiators?

Yes: more TRVZB heads and more sensors can be paired to the same ZB Bridge Pro, up to the limits stated by the manufacturer. The same hub can also take relays, door/window sensors and Sonoff Zigbee devices for lights and roller shutters.

Are batteries included?

The TRVZB valve heads run on AA batteries and the SNZB-02P sensors on a CR2477 coin cell; whether they come in the box is stated on each product's Amazon listing. The kit also has an optional pack of spare CR2477 cells for the sensors.

What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?

Write to us from the contact page quoting the kit code: we will point you to a compatible alternative, so the kit stays tested as a whole. This happens mostly with multipacks and colours, which are sometimes only available in a different pack of the same model.

Why buy on Amazon?

Purchase, payment, delivery, returns and warranty are handled by Amazon under its own terms: delivery times, returns and warranty are shown on Amazon at the moment of purchase. The kit was put together and tested by us, checking that the parts work with one another; one click fills the cart with every item.
