Customisable kits. This is one of the Milesight LoRaWAN kits in the Smart Home Kit section. For different installations, custom kits or bespoke automation, write to us from the contact section.
Several sizes. The figures, diagram and table on this page describe the «10 rooms» size. The other sizes are selected at the top and are listed further down, under «Available sizes».
10 fall sensors60 GHz ceiling radar, in the room or in the bathroom: fall, time on the floor, getting out of bed, presence.
10 SOS buttonsRed battery-powered button, on the wall next to the bed, on the bedside table or worn round the neck on the lanyard.
10 movement sensorsThey report that the resident has got up at night and whether the room is dark or lit.
No imagesThe radar does not film: it detects position and movement, in the dark and in the bathroom too.

What it does

  • The ceiling radar sensor recognises a fall and time spent on the floor, with a declared accuracy of up to 99%, and immediately sends the alarm with the name of the room.
  • The same sensor detects presence in the room, resident in bed or out of bed, prolonged immobility and unusually long stays in the bathroom: each event is enabled or excluded room by room.
  • There are no cameras and no microphones: the radar produces no images and can also be installed in the bathroom. It is IP65.
  • The SOS button sends the call to the staff with one press; it confirms with an audible and visual signal.
  • The wall movement sensor reports when the resident gets up at night and detects whether the room is dark: the staff know who is on their feet before an alarm goes off.
  • Each fall sensor has a contact output, active for the whole duration of the alarm, which can be used for a local signal or for the existing call system.
  • The system works alongside the supervision by the staff and the call system of the premises: it does not replace them and it is not a medical device.
For a different number of rooms, sensors both in the room and in the bathroom, control of the night-time courtesy light, if in the unit you cannot use the network of the premises and a 4G gateway is needed, for premises on several floors or with several units: tell us the characteristics of your premises from the contact section and we will propose the correct configuration together with the quotation.
Litio Store nursing home falls and call kit for 10 rooms: installation diagram in the rooms of the residence
1Compact indoor LoRaWAN gateway, in the staff room or in the corridor at the centre of the unit, connected to the network of the premises: it collects alarms and calls from all the rooms.
2Ceiling fall radar sensor, in the room or in the bathroom, mains powered with the supplied adapter. One per room, ten in the kit.
3Red battery-powered SOS button, next to the bed. Ten in the kit.
4Wall movement and light sensor, battery powered. Ten in the kit.

How it is installed

Gateway. Compact indoor unit (IP30, operation from -20 to +50 °C): on a desk, on the wall or on the ceiling with the supplied plate, in the staff room or in the corridor, central with respect to the rooms served. USB-C 5 V power supply with an ordinary 2 A adapter, network connection with an Ethernet cable or the building Wi-Fi.
Fall sensors. On the ceiling only, between 2.3 and 3 m high, perfectly level, at the centre of the area to be watched and with the long side parallel to the long side of the room; if it cannot be centred, at least 1 m from the walls. One sensor covers from 2 × 2 m up to 4 × 5 m: rooms from 10 to 20 m², bathrooms from 3 to 15 m². Away from ceiling fans, chandeliers, mirrors and large metal surfaces. Surface mounting with two 6 mm wall plugs, or flush into the suspended ceiling with a 76-80 mm hole and springs.
Power supply of the fall sensors. Each sensor is powered at 5 V with a USB-C cable from the supplied adapter: a socket near the ceiling or in the suspended ceiling is needed, or else a trunking run to the nearest socket. Operation from 0 to 50 °C. The contact output, 60 V and 1 A maximum, is connected if a local signal is needed.
SOS buttons and movement sensors. Button with double-sided tape or screws on the wall next to the head of the bed, or carried by the resident on the lanyard: it is IP30, it must not go in the shower. Movement sensor on the wall between 1.5 and 2.5 m above the floor, facing the bed and the route to the bathroom: it detects up to 8 m with an angle of 120°. There must be no curtains, fans or other moving objects in its field of view.
Configuration. Buttons and movement sensors over NFC with a smartphone and the manufacturer's free app. The fall sensors have no NFC: each one creates its own Wi-Fi network, you connect with a smartphone or a PC and from the browser you set the dimensions of the room, the position of the bed, the active events and the alarm times. The gateway is configured from a browser.
Documentation included. Written installation guide with heights, position of the sensor with respect to the bed and the walls, ceiling power supply and power-up sequence, and initial configuration of events, alarm times and room names based on the details supplied when ordering.

Before you order

Is an internet connection needed in the rooms?

Not in the rooms. It is needed at the point where the gateway is installed: a network socket or the Wi-Fi coverage of the premises. The sensors do not use the Wi-Fi of the premises, they talk to the gateway by radio. If you cannot use the internal network, the version with a 4G gateway is available, which requires a data SIM (not included, any operator, less than 1 GB of traffic per month). You choose it when ordering.

Does one gateway cover the whole unit? And several floors?

Inside a building the range depends on walls and floor slabs: the gateway goes in a central position, in the staff room or in the corridor. For 10 rooms on the same floor the compact gateway is adequate. For several floors, units far apart or premises with thick walls, choose the «large building» variant: semi-industrial IP65 gateway, with more range and able to be powered over PoE. One gateway handles hundreds of devices.

Does the sensor go in the room or in the bathroom?

The kit provides one fall sensor per room: it is mounted in the space where the risk is greater, usually the bathroom or the bed area. One sensor covers 4 × 5 m at most and does not see through walls: to watch both the bedroom and the bathroom you need two. Tell us from the contact section and we will adapt the kit.

Are there cameras? What do residents and relatives see?

No cameras and no microphones. The radar detects the position and movement of a person, it produces no images and it works in the dark. On the ceiling you see a white plate of about 11 × 8 cm.

Does it connect to the existing call system? Does it switch on the courtesy light?

The kit works independently: alarms and calls reach the app of the staff on duty. Each fall sensor also has a contact output, active for as long as the alarm lasts, which an installer can take to an input of the call system or to a signal outside the door. The SOS button does not replace the call system required by the regulations for the premises. The courtesy light is not controlled by the basic composition: the movement sensor reports that the resident has got up and whether the room is dark, but it does not switch loads. To switch it on, an actuator per room is added: write to us from the contact section.

We have 20 or 40 rooms

Among the product options you will find the 20 and 40 room sizes; for 40 rooms or several floors the «large building» gateway variant is recommended. For units of a different size or for sensors both in the room and in the bathroom, write to us from the contact section stating the number of rooms, floors and the height of the ceilings: we will send you the composition and the quotation for the adapted kit.

Battery life

The fall sensors have no battery: they are mains powered. SOS buttons: over 7 years declared with 10 presses a day. Movement sensors: about 4 years with a good radio signal, less with a weak signal. The batteries are lithium and replaceable; the charge level is visible in the app.

Where do the alarms arrive and are there any fees?

In the manufacturer's app and portal, from smartphone and PC, with event history, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. Where management software for the premises or a call system with a data input is present, the gateway can also send the events to that system (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.

What happens if the power or the internet goes down?

Without internet the notifications do not reach the smartphones until the line comes back; the contact output and the audible and visual signal of the fall sensor work anyway. In the event of a blackout the fall sensors and the gateway switch off, unless they are on the essential-services line or on a UPS. Buttons and movement sensors are battery powered.

Is an electrician needed?

For the buttons and the movement sensors, no. For the fall sensors it is recommended: each one requires a power point near the ceiling for the supplied USB-C adapter, and the connection of the contact output, where used.

What is not included
  • Sockets, trunking and ceiling power points for the fall sensors
  • Actuators and lamps for the courtesy light
  • The data SIM, in the version with a 4G gateway
  • The 5 V USB power supply for the gateway, if you do not already have one
  • In the "devices only" version: network cable, spare batteries, small fixings and labels
