What it does
- The two CAM-B1P units film outside in 2K and show colour images at night, as the manufacturer states.
- The PT2 indoors pans and tilts: from the app you point it at the door, the living room or the window.
- When a camera detects movement it sends a notification and records the clip to its own microSD.
- The three 64GB High Endurance microSD cards keep the recordings in the house, with no subscription.
- In the app you watch the three cameras live, play back the recordings and talk through the speaker.
- Detection zones let you leave out the road and the pavement, so alerts only come from your own yard.

How it is installed
Wi-Fi network. The cameras join the home Wi-Fi directly, with no hub. Before drilling, check with your phone that the router signal is good at the mounting positions outside: the facade is often the weakest spot. If the signal is poor, it is worth adding a repeater or a Wi-Fi access point near that wall.
Outdoor cameras. Fix the two CAM-B1P on the front wall about 2.5-3 m up, under a gutter or a balcony where possible, facing the gate, yard or parking space. Angle them slightly downwards and keep them off the sun and the street lights. Run the power cable indoors to a socket, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Power supply and storage. The kit includes three 5V 2A USB power supplies, as the cameras do not come with one, and three 64GB SanDisk High Endurance microSD cards, one per camera: these are cards built for continuous writing and they last longer than ordinary ones. Fit the card before mounting the camera.
App and pairing. In the eWeLink app add one camera at a time with the setup wizard and the home Wi-Fi. Give each a clear name, “Courtyard” or “Living room” for example. In each camera's menu check the microSD is recognised, choose the recording quality and draw the motion detection zones.
Recommended automations. Turn on the outdoor camera notifications only at night or when you are out, and the PT2's only when the house is empty. Give the PT2 a home position facing the front door. If you have eWeLink smart lights, you can have them come on when an outdoor camera detects movement at night.
Contents verified. The three cameras join the home Wi-Fi and are all managed in the eWeLink app, with no hub. The kit includes three 64GB SanDisk High Endurance microSD cards, one per camera, and three 5V 2A USB power supplies, because the cameras come without a power supply.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
No, the Sonoff cameras join the home 2.4GHz Wi-Fi directly and run in the eWeLink app. All you need is good Wi-Fi coverage where you mount them, outdoors above all.
Where do the recordings go?
Each camera records to its own 64GB microSD, included, with no subscription. When the card is full the oldest recordings are overwritten. Any cloud services from the manufacturer are optional, paid for and not part of the kit.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
The cameras are managed in the eWeLink app; viewing on Alexa or Google displays, where provided, goes through linking the eWeLink account to the assistants. Availability depends on the model: see each camera's Amazon listing.
Do you need an electrician?
No. The cameras run off the kit's USB power supplies plugged into ordinary sockets. If you do want a new outdoor socket for the cameras on the front of the building, that 230V work must be done by a qualified person with the supply isolated.
What happens if there is no internet?
If the router stays on, the cameras go on recording to the microSD cards. Without an internet connection, though, you get no notifications and cannot see the pictures from outside the house; the recordings stay on the cards and you watch them back when the line returns.
Can I add cameras?
Yes, you can add more Sonoff cameras to the eWeLink app and see them all together. Each extra camera has to join the Wi-Fi and needs its own microSD: keep that in the budget. If you like, we will tell you which models suit the spots you need to cover.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
Get in touch through the contact page quoting the kit code and the product you cannot find: we will point you to an alternative that works with the eWeLink app and the rest of the kit, so you keep a combination we have checked and you do not have to hunt for an equivalent model yourself.
