What it does
- Each Shelly 2L Gen3 has two channels and works without a neutral: it controls two lights from the same back box.
- The existing switches or push-buttons are wired to the module inputs and remain the main control.
- The Shelly BLU RC Button 4 remote talks to the Gen3 modules over Bluetooth and switches the lights without opening the app.
- In the Shelly app you set schedules, timed lights and scenes across several rooms.
- With low-power LED lamps the optional Shelly bypass stops flicker and weak starts, as the manufacturer advises.

How it is installed
Wi-Fi network. The modules join the home 2.4GHz Wi-Fi: before you start, check the signal reaches the rooms where they will be fitted. No hub is needed. If the router is far away or the walls are thick, a repeater or a mesh system is worth it, because a module shut inside a wall box receives less than a phone does.
Modules behind the switch inserts. The electrician isolates the supply, opens the back box and wires the Shelly 2L Gen3 between line, the lamp returns and the switch inputs, following the manufacturer's diagram. Each module handles two lights in the same box. The work is only done with the power off, and 230V wiring must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Boxes, connectors and bypass. If the module will not fit behind the insert, the deep 503 boxes or the Gewiss junction box are used, where the modules sit comfortably. The Wago 221 connectors make tidy joints. The bypass, an option, is fitted in parallel with the lamp when the load is a low-power LED and the light flickers or stays faintly on.
App and pairing. In the Shelly app you add each module, join it to the Wi-Fi and assign it to a room under the name of its light. You pick the type of switch wired to it, toggle or push-button. The BLU remote pairs with the modules from the app, as the manufacturer sets out, and each key is assigned a light or a scene.
Recommended automations. Hallway light that switches itself off after a few minutes, outside lights on at sunset, one key on the remote that turns every light off at bedtime. When you are away, a scene that switches a few lights on and off in the evening makes the place look lived in. Voice assistants connect through the Shelly integrations.
Contents verified. The three Shelly 2L Gen3 modules work without a neutral and take the Shelly BLU RC Button 4 remote over Bluetooth, all in the same Shelly app. Wago 221 connectors for wiring the modules are included. Optional: deep 503 boxes if a module will not fit behind the switch, the Gewiss junction box to mount the modules there instead, and three bypasses to be used only with low-power LED loads.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
No. The Shelly 2L Gen3 modules connect straight to the home Wi-Fi and the BLU remote talks to them over Bluetooth. All you need is a router with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi reaching the rooms where the modules are fitted.
Does it really work without a neutral?
Yes, that is what the kit is for: the Shelly 2L takes its supply through the lamp, with only live and the returns. With very low-power LEDs the bypass may be needed, included as an option, fitted near the lamp as the manufacturer's diagram shows.
Do you need an electrician?
Yes. The modules wire into 230V inside the switch boxes or in a junction box: the work must be done by qualified personnel with the installation isolated. The electrician also checks the space in the box and decides whether to use the deep boxes or the junction box.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, with the Shelly integrations you switch on in the app: every light shows up in the assistant and comes on by voice. Schedules, timed lighting and pairing the remote, though, stay in the Shelly app.
What happens if there is no internet?
The wall switches keep working, because they are wired straight to the modules. Without internet you lose control from outside the house and the voice assistants; local control depends on the manufacturer's features.
Is the remote battery included?
The BLU RC Button 4 remote takes a CR2032 button cell, which the manufacturer states is already in the box. When it runs down you replace it with any standard CR2032; the charge level shows in the Shelly app.
Can I add more lights?
Yes: more Shelly 2L Gen3 units can be added or, where there is a neutral, more flush-mounted Shelly modules. They appear in the same app and can be used in the same scenes and with the same remote.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
