Collection: Battery Charging

Everything you need to charge a battery, from the mains or on board: 230V chargers for LiFePO4 packs from 12V to 60V and currents up to 20A, including IP67 versions for exposed installations, Sterling Power BB1260 60A DC-DC alternator chargers and Redarc BCDC units with an integrated MPPT at 40A and 50A, which handle solar and alternator together.

The first figure to look at is the end-of-charge voltage: a nominally 12V LiFePO4 pack wants 14.4-14.6V, a 48V one about 58.4V. A lead-acid charger with a desulphation stage can exceed those thresholds and trip the BMS.

Current is sized at roughly 0.2-0.5C of the capacity.
