Scotty AI is the bi-directional DC-DC converter that bridges alternator and lithium batteries. It reads voltage, current and temperature in real time, builds an adaptive charging map for that specific alternator and adjusts the output continuously to hold the maximum safe current: no programming, no load dump, alternator thermal protection always on. Compatible with Victron VE.CAN, NMEA 2000 and CAN-BMS.

How it works
It sits between the alternator (or the starter battery) and the lithium bank. When the engine starts, Scotty measures alternator voltage, current and temperature dozens of times per second and builds the right charging curve for that engine by itself: no dip switches, no program to load. If the alternator heats up it reduces current instead of shutting down, and because it is bi-directional it never drops the load abruptly, so a load dump — the voltage spike that kills the diodes — cannot happen. The same unit works both ways: it charges a 48 V bank from a 12 V alternator, or runs the 12 V services from the 48 V bank. Fine tuning is done from a phone over Wi-Fi.
