Charging an auxiliary battery from the engine alternator presents a number of challenges.

A conventional alternator uses a basic voltage regulator that holds its output at around 14.4V, without providing a dedicated battery charging profile.

Bluetooth Smart connectivity

Use a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet or other device to monitor the charger, adjust its settings and install updates when new features become available.

Fully programmable

Absorption voltage, float voltage and absorption time are all programmable.

Fully compatible with smart alternators in Euro 5 and Euro 6 vehicles, and well suited to charging LiFePO4 lithium batteries.

Configurable battery charging profile or constant-voltage output.

It can also operate as a constant-voltage power supply (voltage stabiliser).

Smart alternator compatibility with engine-running detection.

Adaptive three-stage charging: bulk, absorption and float.

For lead-acid batteries, a short absorption phase after a shallow discharge helps prevent overcharging. After a deep discharge, the absorption phase is automatically extended to fully recharge the battery.

For lithium batteries, absorption time is fixed, with a default of 2 hours. A fixed output voltage can be selected instead.

Remote on/off control

A remote on/off switch or relay contact can be connected to the two-pole connector. Alternatively, its H terminal (right) can be connected to battery positive, or its L terminal (left) to battery negative or the vehicle chassis. All models have short-circuit protection and can be connected in parallel to increase output current.

There is no limit to the number of units that can be connected in parallel.

Overtemperature protection

Output current is reduced at high ambient temperatures.
