Collection: Victron Energy – DC-DC Converters

Victron Energy DC-DC converters, the units that adapt one DC voltage to another without a charge curve: Orion-Tr in isolated and non-isolated versions, from the 12/12-9A at 110W upwards, and Buck-Boost converters at 25A, 50A and 100A for smart alternators, with an optional CAN-bus temperature sensor.

The distinction to keep in mind: a converter feeds loads at a stabilised voltage, while a DC-DC charger charges a battery through bulk, absorption and float. Using a converter to charge a LiFePO4 pack will never bring it to full charge.

Buck-Boost units are the exception: they work both up and down and are programmed like chargers, which is why they are the choice on Euro 6 vehicles with a variable-voltage alternator.
