ABC stands for All Back Contact: there is no metal grid on the front of the cell casting a shadow, so more of the light that lands on the module is converted. The result is 24.5% efficiency on a 1762x1134mm panel, 490Wp inside two square metres. On the same roof area that is roughly 6% more kilowatt-hours than a good 460Wp TOPCon module of the same size.
The open-circuit voltage temperature coefficient is -0.22% per degree, among the lowest in its class. In cold weather the string voltage climbs less, which lets you put more modules in series without crowding the inverter’s voltage ceiling. Series and parallel wiring must still respect the voltage and current limits of your inverter MPPTs.
