Every cable leaving the battery positive gets protected as close to the terminal as it can be: that is the first rule of a DC installation, because a short on an unprotected cable can deliver thousands of amps. Size the fuse on what the cable can carry, not on what the load draws.

Terminal-mounted fuses solve the space problem in tight compartments; busbars tidy the branches and cut hot spots. Certified products for 12V, 24V and 48V.
