The primary function of a battery monitor is to calculate the amp-hours (Ah) consumed and the battery's state of charge. Amp-hour consumption is calculated by integrating the current flowing in and out of the battery. With constant current, this integration is equivalent to current multiplied by time.
A 10A discharge over 2 hours, for example, amounts to 20Ah consumed. All our battery monitors are based on a powerful microprocessor programmed with the algorithms needed for precise monitoring.

• Battery voltage (V).
• Battery charge/discharge current (A).
• Amp-hours consumed (Ah).
• State of charge (%).
• Remaining runtime at the current discharge rate.
• Audible and visual alarm: over- and under-voltage, and/or low battery.
• Programmable alarm or generator start relay.

BMV 712: low cost and ultra-high-resolution monitoring

• The highest resolution: 10mA (0.01A) with a 500A shunt.
• Can be used with 50, 60, or 100 mV shunts. Rated current from 100 A to 1000 A.
• The lowest current draw: 4mA at 12V and 3mA at 24V.
• Extremely easy to connect: the BMV 712 comes with a shunt, a 10-meter RJ12 UTP cable, and a fuse-protected 2-meter battery cable; nothing else is needed.
• Easier to install: separate square and round front bezels to fit any layout. Ring for rear mounting and screws for front mounting.
• Very wide voltage range: 9.5 – 95 VDC, no frequency decade divider needed.
• Communication port (an isolated RS232 interface is required to connect to a computer).

BMV 712: everything under control

• Voltage monitoring of a second battery bank (normally the engine battery)
