This is a configuration for special vehicles and boats with a 48V system: the alternator or starter bank is at 48V and so is the leisure bank, but a charger is still needed, because the alternator voltage does not follow the curve a LiFePO4 pack wants and galvanic isolation keeps the two circuits apart.
The 8A figure reads as 384W: it suits keeping a leisure bank topped up, not recharging it from flat in a hurry.
