DC-DC converters, which adapt one DC voltage to another without passing through AC: Victron Energy Orion-Tr isolated and non-isolated from 9A to more than 30A in 12V-12V, 12V-24V and 24V-12V combinations, 100A Buck-Boost units for smart alternators and CAN-bus temperature sensors.

The difference between a converter and a DC-DC charger is substantial: a converter holds a stable output voltage to supply equipment, a charger follows a charge curve for a battery. Using a converter to charge a lithium pack means never completing the charge.

Buck-Boost is needed on vehicles with a variable voltage alternator, where a traditional DC-DC could not work.
