DC-DC converters, which step one DC voltage to another without going through AC: Victron Energy Orion-Tr isolated and non-isolated from 9A to over 30A in 12V-12V, 12V-24V and 24V-12V, 100A Buck-Boost units for smart alternators and CAN-bus temperature sensors.

The difference between a converter and a DC-DC charger is a real one: the converter holds a steady output voltage to run equipment, the charger follows a charge curve for a battery. Use a converter to charge a lithium pack and the charge never completes.

The Buck-Boost is for vehicles with a variable-voltage alternator, where a conventional DC-DC simply could not work.
