Solar Cable 6 mm² Red 500 m Reel
Reel of 500 metres of single-core 6 mm² solar cable in red, intended for wiring the DC side of a photovoltaic system. It is the cable used to build the strings, the connections between the modules and the runs that carry the energy from the photovoltaic array to the string box, to the DC isolator or to the MPPT input of the inverter. The red colour is conventionally used to identify the positive pole, paired with the black or blue cable for the negative pole: a coding that simplifies wiring, commissioning and any future maintenance work.
The 6 mm² cross-section is the most widespread one in residential and medium sized commercial systems, because it keeps voltage losses down even over long runs and easily withstands the currents of today's high efficiency modules. This is a cable for outdoor installation, designed to resist UV rays, weathering, temperature swings and the high temperatures reached underneath the modules. The 500 m reel format is made for the site and for the professional installer: it reduces joints, allows every run to be cut to measure and is the most economical solution per linear metre compared with short packs.
