Solar Cable 6 mm² Red 50 m Coil
Single-core solar cable of 6 mm² in red, in a 50 metre coil, for wiring the direct current side of a photovoltaic system. The 6 mm² cross-section is the one indicated when the route from the array to the inverter is long or the strings work at high current, because it contains the voltage drop and the line losses compared with the 4 mm² cross-section.
The construction is the one proper to photovoltaic cables: a flexible tinned copper conductor, which resists oxidation, and double insulation in halogen-free cross-linked polyolefin, resistant to UV rays, ozone, moisture and the temperature swings of a roof. The red colour conventionally identifies the positive pole of the string, to be paired with the black version for the negative. The cable is supplied by the metre and must be terminated on site with crimp-on photovoltaic connectors.
