DIY Aqara alarm system with the M1S Gen2 hub and its built-in siren, nine opening sensors on doors and windows and four P1 motion sensors, plus two vibration sensors on the glazing and a button for arming and disarming. Notifications in the Aqara Home app, the siren indoors and separate protection modes for day, night and away.
What it does
- The M1S Gen2 hub takes the events from the sensors and, with the system armed, sounds its built-in siren and sends a notification to the Aqara Home app.
- The nine opening sensors report doors and windows left open; the app shows the state of each one before you leave.
- The P1 sensors pick up movement in the rooms you pass through.
- The T1 vibration sensors on the glazing report knocks and attempts to force them before the glass gives way.
- The T1 mini button by the door arms and disarms the system at a touch.
- The app's protection modes tell away, night and at-home apart, with different sensors active in each.
- Through the hub's HomeKit and Matter support the sensors also appear in Apple Home, Alexa or Google Home, according to the functions the manufacturer supports.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes, and it is included: the M1S Gen2 hub brings every Zigbee sensor into the Aqara Home app and has a built-in siren, so no separate siren is needed. It joins the house Wi-Fi on 2.4GHz.
Is it a certified alarm installation?
No: it is a DIY system for keeping an eye on the house, getting notifications and sounding the hub's siren. It has no link to a monitoring centre and none of the certification professional systems carry; for that you need an alarm installer.
Does it work with Apple, Alexa and Google?
Everything is managed from the Aqara Home app. The hub supports HomeKit and, depending on the manufacturer's firmware, Matter: the sensors then appear in Apple Home, Alexa or Google Home for routines and announcements. The protection modes with the siren are set up in the Aqara Home app.
Do you need an electrician?
No: the sensors are battery-powered and fix with double-sided tape, with no cables and no 230V wiring. The hub runs off an ordinary socket, as the manufacturer describes.
What happens if there is no internet?
The hub stays connected to the sensors and runs the local automations the manufacturer provides for, siren included. Notifications on the smartphone and control from outside the house stop until the connection is back; if the power fails, the hub goes off.
Can I add more sensors?
Yes: further Aqara Zigbee opening, motion, vibration, flood and smoke sensors, Aqara buttons and Aqara cameras all pair to the hub, within the limits the manufacturer states. Every new sensor slots into the protection modes you have already set up.
Are batteries included?
The sensors run on coin cells; whether they are already in the box is stated on each product's Amazon listing. The Aqara Home app shows the charge level, so they can be changed before they run flat.

Why buy on Amazon?
Purchase, payment, delivery, returns and warranty are handled by Amazon under its own terms: delivery times, returns and warranty are shown on Amazon when you buy. The kit is our own work and we checked that the parts work together; one click fills the basket with every item.
