What it does
- The four ZBMINIR2 modules hide behind the existing switches and turn the lights on from the app, by voice and on a schedule; the wall switch carries on working.
- The two MINI-ZBRBS drive the roller shutters: up, down and position from the app, with the wall button always live.
- The two ZBM5 units replace the insert in a 503 box with a one-gang Zigbee touch switch that drives its own light directly.
- The two SNZB-04P sensors report the front door or the windows being opened: useful for notifications and for scenes, for example switching on the hall light when the door opens in the evening.
- With eWeLink scenes everything goes off as you leave and the shutters close at sunset.
- The mains-powered devices strengthen the Zigbee network throughout the house.

How it is installed
Zigbee hub. The ZB Bridge Pro is powered over USB and goes somewhere central in the flat, away from metal boards. You add it to the eWeLink app by connecting it to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. It is worth installing it first and pairing the devices straight after fitting, starting with the ones nearest the hub.
Relays, roller shutter modules and switches. With the supply isolated, the electrician fits the ZBMINIR2 units behind the light switches, the MINI-ZBRBS units in the roller-shutter push-button boxes and the ZBM5 units in place of the chosen mechanisms, following the manufacturer's diagrams and with a neutral in the box. Work on 230V must only be carried out by qualified personnel.
Connections and back boxes. The Wago 221-413 lever connectors are for joining the module wires to the existing ones. If there is no room behind the switch insert, the optional deep 503 back boxes replace the present one; alternatively the modules go in the Gewiss junction box, also optional. The SNZB-04P sensors stick to the frame with double-sided tape.
App and pairing. In the eWeLink app you open the hub, start the Zigbee device search and pair the relays, the roller-shutter modules, the switches and the sensors one at a time, following the maker's instructions. You run the shutter calibration, name every light and window and assign the rooms.
Recommended automations. “Going out” scene: it turns every light off and closes the shutters. Shutters down at sunset and partly up in the morning on weekdays. In the evening, the hall light comes on as the front door opens. A notification if a window is left open when you leave the house.
Contents verified. The ZBMINIR2 relays, the MINI-ZBRBS modules, the ZBM5 switches and the SNZB-04P sensors are Sonoff Zigbee devices that pair with the ZB Bridge Pro and are managed from the eWeLink app; the ZBM5 units come in the Italian 503 box format. Wago 221-413 lever connectors for the module connections are included. Optional are the deep 503 boxes, if a module will not fit behind the insert, and the Gewiss junction box, for mounting the modules in the junction box.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
Yes, and it is included: every device in the kit is Zigbee and talks to the ZB Bridge Pro, which joins the house Wi-Fi. The mains-powered relays and modules extend the Zigbee coverage across the whole flat.
Can I keep the plates I have?
Yes, for the lights on ZBMINIR2 modules and for the roller shutters: the modules go behind the existing inserts, which carry on working as before. Only the two points with a ZBM5 change, because the ZBM5 replaces the insert in the 503 box: compatibility with the plate range already fitted has to be checked.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, through the eWeLink app: you link the account to Alexa or Google Home and the lights and roller shutters show up among the devices you can control by voice. Voice commands go through the cloud, so internet is needed.
Do you need an electrician?
Yes. Relays, roller-shutter modules and switches are wired to the 230V circuit inside the boxes: the work must be done by qualified personnel with the installation isolated, to the manufacturer's diagrams. The boxes need a neutral. The opening sensors, on the other hand, stick on with no wiring.
What happens if there is no internet?
Wall switches and push-buttons still control the lights and the shutters. The app from outside, the voice assistants and scenes that go through the eWeLink cloud stop until the connection is back.
Can I add more devices?
Yes: further Sonoff Zigbee relays, roller-shutter modules, ZBM5 switches, motion and temperature sensors and thermostatic heads all pair to the same ZB Bridge Pro, within the manufacturer's limits. Each new device is added from the eWeLink app in the same way as the first ones.
Are batteries included?
The relays, the modules and the switches are powered from the mains. The SNZB-04P sensors use a button cell; whether it comes in the box is stated on the product's Amazon listing. The charge level is checked in the app.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
