Fermentation temperature of 6 tanks with PT100 probes and a display on the tank, CO2 in the fermentation room, temperature and humidity in the barrel cellar, leak sensors on the floor. Battery-powered sensors, LoRaWAN radio transmission, data and alarms from the app.
What it does
- Each two-probe sensor follows a pair of tanks: the temperature appears on the display and is sent every 10 minutes to the gateway connected to the winery network.
- For each tank you set a maximum and a minimum threshold: the notification arrives if the fermentation heats above the chosen value or if the cooling does not hold.
- The temperature curve of every tank stays in the history, which you can consult from a smartphone and from a PC even after the harvest is over; each sensor also keeps 10,000 readings in its own memory.
- The two CO2 sensors, mounted low down where the gas collects, measure from 400 to 5,000 ppm and send a notification when the set threshold is exceeded.
- In the barrel cellar and barrique room, two sensors record temperature and humidity, with an alarm if the values leave the chosen range.
- The floor leak sensors sound on the spot and alert you on your smartphone when the water reaches them.

How it is installed
What is in the kit

| Qty | Device | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Compact indoor LoRaWAN gateway | Collects the sensor data and sends it to the cloud. Ethernet or Wi-Fi, USB-C 5 V power supply. |
| 3 | Two-input temperature sensor with display, IP65 | Reads two tanks, shows the values on the spot and keeps 10,000 readings. Compliant with EN 12830. |
| 6 | PT100 temperature probe with cable, IP67 | One per tank, in the thermowell. Range from -40 to +125 °C. |
| 2 | CO2, temperature, humidity and pressure sensor, IP65 | CO2 from 400 to 5,000 ppm in the fermentation room. |
| 2 | Temperature and humidity sensor, IP67 | Climate of the barrel cellar and barrique room. |
| 2 | Compact water leak sensor, IP67 | Audible alarm and notification with 0.5 mm of water on the floor. |
Top quality Milesight devices with manufacturer's warranty. Batteries included in all the sensors; the tank sensors can also be powered from USB-C 5 V. The gateway is powered at 5 V from USB-C.
Available sizes
The size is selected at the top, together with the version and the connectivity. The diagram, the photo and the table above show the «6 tanks» size; with the other sizes only the quantities of the devices listed below change, the rest of the kit is identical.
- 4 tanks: 2 two-probe temperature recorders, 4 PT100 probes
- 6 tanks: 3 two-probe temperature recorders, 6 PT100 probes
- 10 tanks: 5 two-probe temperature recorders, 10 PT100 probes
- 14 tanks: 7 two-probe temperature recorders, 14 PT100 probes
In the complete kit, the installation material linked to these devices (brackets, thermowells, clips, cables, boxes) follows the chosen size. For a different size, write to us from the contacts section.
Available connectivity
- Customer network (Ethernet/Wi-Fi): 1 compact indoor LoRaWAN gateway
- Built-in 4G: 1 compact LoRaWAN gateway with 4G. SIM not included
- Large building (Ethernet/Wi-Fi/PoE): 1 semi-industrial LoRaWAN gateway
- Large building 4G: 1 semi-industrial LoRaWAN gateway with 4G. SIM not included
In the complete kit, the material for the gateway (network cable, pole, PoE injector) changes accordingly. The SIM for the 4G versions is not included.
Choose the version
- The Milesight devices in the table
- Installation guide and initial configuration

- Everything in the basic version
- 6 stainless steel thermowells with half-inch connection, for the tanks without a probe holder
- Clips and cable ties to fix the probe cables along the tanks
- Stainless steel collars to fix the sensors to poles, pipes and walkways, Ethernet cable for the gateway
- Plugs, screws, double-sided tape, numbered labels and installation diagram
Before ordering
Is an internet connection needed in the winery?
It is needed at the point where the gateway is installed: a network socket or Wi-Fi coverage, usually in the office. The sensors do not use Wi-Fi, they talk to the gateway by radio. If there is no line in the winery, the version with a 4G gateway is available, which requires a data SIM (not included, any operator, traffic below 1 GB per month). It is chosen when ordering.
Does the signal get through in an underground winery or one with thick walls?
In a building the range depends on walls and floors. The compact gateway of the basic version is suitable for a compact winery, above ground, and must be placed in a central position. For underground rooms below reinforced concrete floors, very thick stone walls, several buildings or industrial sheds, choose the «large building» version: a gateway with greater range, IP65, which can be powered via PoE and can also be mounted in the fermentation room. One gateway handles hundreds of devices.
My tanks already have a thermometer and a cooling control unit
The kit does not touch them: it adds one probe per tank, with remote reading, history and alarms. A free thermowell is needed, or a half-inch socket on which to screw one; the probe has a diameter between 4 and 6 mm. The kit measures and alerts, it does not control the cooling solenoid valves: if you also want the control, write to us from the contacts section. Tanks, fermenters and the refrigeration system are not included.
Is the CO2 sensor enough for operator safety?
It measures from 400 to 5,000 ppm, that is up to the occupational exposure limit value over eight hours, and warns when the concentration rises: it is a continuous check of the ventilation during fermentation. The reading is transmitted at intervals and above 5,000 ppm the instrument is at full scale: it does not replace fixed detectors with visual and audible alarm, where the risk assessment requires them.
I have more than 6 tanks
The kit is configured on the winery: each additional sensor follows another two tanks, the gateway and the platform stay the same. Among the product options you will find the 10 and 14 tank sizes. For different situations, write to us from the contacts section indicating the number of tanks, rooms and surface area: we will send you the composition and the quotation of the adapted kit.
Battery life
The tank sensors with two probes last over 2.7 years on batteries and can be powered permanently from USB-C. The CO2 sensors and those of the barrel cellar reach up to 10 years with one reading every 10 minutes at 25 °C; the leak sensors about 5 years with a button cell. All the batteries are replaceable and the charge level is visible in the app.
Where is the data consulted and are there subscription fees?
On the manufacturer's app and portal, from smartphone and PC, with charts, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. If there is a winery software or a management system, the gateway can also send the data to that system (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The sensors keep measuring and the displays on the tanks remain readable. The tank sensors and the CO2 ones keep the readings in memory and retransmit them when the connection returns; the leak sensors sound on the spot anyway. The notifications on the smartphone resume when the line is restored.
Is an electrician needed? And what about washing?
It is not: the sensors are battery-powered and are fixed with screws, cable ties or double-sided tape, the gateway is powered at 5 V. The tank and CO2 sensors are IP65, the probes, the barrel cellar sensors and the leak ones are IP67: they withstand humidity and splashes, not the direct jet of the lance. The compact gateway is IP30 and must go in a dry room.
What is not included
- Tanks, fermenters and the cooling system: these are the ones in your winery
- The fitting of any sockets on the tanks without a connection
- The data SIM, in the version with a 4G gateway
- In the "devices only" version: thermowells, collars, cables and small parts
