What it does
- In each room a sensor measures temperature and humidity and sends a reading every 10 minutes to the gateway connected to the dairy network: you can see the trend of every room throughout the whole ageing period.
- For each room you set temperature and humidity thresholds: the notification arrives when the value leaves the range, day and night.
- The contacts on the doors report openings and doors left open beyond the set time, and add a second temperature and humidity point near the entrance of the room.
- The PT100 probe records the process temperature, up to 200 °C: the trend of every cycle stays in the history.
- In the finished product refrigerators, the probe is immersed in a buffer bottle that imitates the inertia of the product: opening the door does not generate false alarms.
- The floor leak sensors sound on the spot and alert you on your smartphone when the water arrives where it should not.
- History and charts can be consulted from a smartphone and from a PC, in support of the self-monitoring plan.

How it is installed
Gateway. On a desk, on a wall or on the ceiling in a dry room, as close as possible to the ageing rooms: office, farm shop, corridor. It is a compact indoor gateway (IP30, operation from -20 to +50 °C): it must not go in the processing rooms or where washing is done with a jet. USB-C 5 V power supply, connection with an Ethernet cable or the company Wi-Fi.
Rooms and doors. The room sensor sticks with its magnet to the sheet metal wall, away from the evaporator and from the flow of the fans; the measuring slot must not face upwards. It works from -30 to +60 °C, IP67. Door contact: transmitting body inside the room next to the door, contact on the frame and magnet on the leaf, aligned and no more than 20 mm apart; 1.5 m cable. The manufacturer advises against fixing the magnets in contact with iron parts: on steel sheet doors, check that it works before the final fixing.
Process temperature. Stainless steel PT100 probe, 4 mm in diameter and 30 mm long, with a 1.5 m Teflon cable, inserted into a thermowell of the machine or of the pipework. Transmitting body on the wall or on a pole next to it, away from steam and hot surfaces: it works from -30 to +70 °C, IP67.
Refrigerators and leak sensors. Sensor body outside the refrigerator, with screws or a cable tie; 50 mm stainless steel probe inside, slipped into the buffer bottle after removing the inner cap. The 1.5 m cable passes through the door gasket. Leak sensors resting on the floor, flat, at the points where the water must not arrive: packaging store, electrical panel room, under heat exchangers and tanks. They trigger with 0.5 mm of water.
Configuration. Via NFC with a smartphone and the manufacturer's free app: reading intervals, thresholds, names of rooms and refrigerators. The gateway is configured from a browser. No cables and no paid software are needed.
Documentation included. Written installation guide with positions, distances, cable routing and power-up sequence, and initial configuration of the temperature and humidity thresholds based on the products indicated when ordering.

Before ordering
Is an internet connection needed in the dairy?
It is needed at the point where the gateway is installed: a network socket or Wi-Fi coverage, usually in the office or in the farm shop. The sensors do not use Wi-Fi, they talk to the gateway by radio. If there is no line on the premises, the version with a 4G gateway is available, which requires a data SIM (not included, any operator, traffic below 1 GB per month). It is chosen when ordering.
Does the signal get out of rooms with metal panels?
Sheet metal panels attenuate the signal: for this reason the gateway goes in the same building, as close as possible to the rooms, and during installation the reception of every sensor is checked with the door closed before the final fixing. For underground rooms, thick walls, several buildings or industrial sheds, choose the «large building» version, with a gateway of greater range, IP65 and powerable via PoE. One gateway handles hundreds of devices.
Is the data valid for HACCP?
The sensors of the ageing rooms and of the refrigerators are declared by the manufacturer to be compliant with EN 12830, the standard on temperature recorders for food, and the refrigerator sensors keep 4,000 readings in their own memory. The history is continuous and can be consulted by period. How to include it in the self-monitoring plan is decided by your HACCP officer. The process probe documents the trend of the cycles, but it does not replace the temperature recorder supplied with the pasteuriser.
The rooms already have their own control unit
The kit is independent: it does not connect to the control unit and does not control cooling, humidification or air changes. It measures with its own sensors, records and alerts, even when the control unit or the refrigeration unit have failed. Ageing rooms, refrigerators, pasteuriser and vat are not included.
I have more than 4 rooms, or a cured meat plant
The kit is configured on the plant: every additional room requires one temperature and humidity sensor, the gateway and the platform stay the same. Among the product options you will find the 6 and 8 room sizes. Do they withstand high humidity and washing?
The room sensors, the door contacts, the process sensor, the refrigerator sensors and the leak ones are IP67. The room sensors measure humidity up to 100% and have a housing in food-grade material. The compact gateway is IP30 and must go in a dry room; in the «large building» version the gateway is IP65.
Battery life
Room sensors, door contacts and process sensor: up to 10 years with one reading every 10 minutes at 25 °C. Refrigerator sensors: about 8 years under the same conditions. Leak sensors: over 5 years with a button cell. All the batteries are replaceable; shorter intervals and many openings per day reduce the life. The charge level is visible in the app.
Where is the data consulted and are there subscription fees?
On the manufacturer's app and portal, from smartphone and PC, with charts, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. If there is a production management system or self-monitoring software, the gateway can also send the data to that system (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The sensors keep measuring. The refrigerator sensors and the process sensor keep the readings in memory and retransmit them when the connection returns; the leak sensors sound on the spot anyway. The notifications on the smartphone resume when the line is restored.
Is an electrician needed?
No. All the sensors are battery-powered and are fixed with a magnet, screws, cable ties or double-sided tape; the gateway is powered at 5 V. The only mechanical work is the thermowell for the process probe, if the machine does not have a free one.
