CO2 and lightCO2 concentration in the middle of the crop and illuminance up to 100,000 lux.
SubstrateVolumetric moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity in the pot or on the bench.
8 controlled loadsExtractor fans, ridge motors, shading systems and misting, on threshold or on schedule.

What it does

  • Three temperature and humidity sensors, distributed by zone and by height, send a reading every 10 minutes to the gateway connected to the company network.
  • The CO2 sensor measures the concentration in the middle of the crop, from 400 to 5,000 ppm, together with temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure.
  • The light sensor measures the illuminance above the crop: the value is used to control shading and to calculate the light received during the day.
  • The probe in the substrate measures volumetric moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity, useful for checking the build-up of salts from fertigation.
  • The 8-output controller operates extractor fans, ridge vents, shading screens and misting when the set thresholds are exceeded, on schedule or manually from the app.
  • The two magnetic contacts report doors and windows opened outside the schedule, with immediate notification.
  • History, charts and notifications can be viewed from a smartphone and from a PC.
For more tunnels, larger greenhouses, a different number of loads to control, if there is no internet connection on the farm and a 4G gateway is needed: tell us the characteristics of your greenhouse from the contacts section and we will propose the correct configuration together with the quotation.
Greenhouse and nursery climate kit Litio Store: installation diagram in the greenhouse
1LoRaWAN gateway in the technical room or at the head of the greenhouse, connected to the company network: collects the data of the whole greenhouse and sends it to the cloud.
2Temperature and humidity sensor, IP67. Three in the kit: two zones at crop height and one high point under the ridge.
3CO2, temperature, humidity and pressure sensor, in the middle of the crop.
4Light sensor above the crop, with the measuring window facing upwards.
5Probe in the substrate: moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity.
6Controller with 8 relay outputs in the electrical panel: operates extractor fans, shading systems and misting.
7Magnetic contact on the door and on the ridge vent. Two in the kit.

How it is installed

Gateway. On the wall or on a pole in the technical room or at the head of the greenhouse, high up and away from metal masses. Powered by the supplied power supply unit or via PoE, network connection with Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi. IP65 protection, operation from -40 to +70 °C. A greenhouse of 2,000 m² and the nearby tunnels are covered by a single gateway.
Temperature and humidity sensors. Screwed or fixed with a cable tie to an upright, two at crop height in different zones and one high up under the ridge. The measuring slot must not face upwards. Position them sheltered from direct sun and from the misting jet. Measuring range from -30 to +60 °C.
CO2, light and substrate. CO2 sensor in the middle of the crop, in the lower part: the manufacturer indicates 30-45 cm above the ground, because CO2 tends to stratify low down. Light sensor above the crop, at a point never in shade, with the round window facing the sky. Probe with the tips fully inserted in the substrate, away from metal parts; 2 m cable up to the transmitter body, fixed to an upright.
Relay controller and contacts. Controller on a DIN rail in the greenhouse panel, powered at 230 V. Each output carries 10 A on a resistive load and 5 A on motors, 16 A in total: extractor fans and motors must be operated through a contactor. Magnetic contacts on the door and on the ridge vent, with the two parts aligned no more than 20 mm apart, in a position sheltered from dripping water.
Configuration. Via NFC with a smartphone and the manufacturer's free app: reading intervals, thresholds, names of the zones and of the loads. The gateway is configured from a browser. No cables and no paid software needed.
Documentation included. Written installation guide with heights, positions, wiring diagram of the relay outputs and switch-on sequence, and initial threshold configuration based on the crop specified when ordering.

Before ordering

Is an internet connection needed in the greenhouse?

It is needed at the point where the gateway is installed: a network socket or the company Wi-Fi coverage. The sensors do not use Wi-Fi, they talk to the gateway by radio. If there is no line on the farm, the version with a 4G gateway is available, which requires a data SIM (not included, any operator, traffic below 1 GB per month). It is selected when ordering.

What is the radio coverage?

In open field the sensors reach the gateway at a few kilometres; inside and between the greenhouses, with metal structures and vegetation, one gateway easily covers a greenhouse of 2,000 m² and the adjacent tunnels. For distant farm buildings a second gateway is added. One gateway handles hundreds of devices.

Which loads can I control?

Anything that is operated by a contact: extractor fans, ridge and side motors, shading screens, misting solenoid valves, heaters. The 8 outputs are relay contacts rated 10 A resistive and 5 A inductive; for motors a contactor is used. Motors, power contactors and existing panels are not included: the kit controls the system you already have.

I have more tunnels or a larger greenhouse

The kit is configured on the greenhouse: for each additional tunnel the environmental sensors are added, gateway and platform remain the same. Among the product options you will find the 2 and 3 tunnel sizes; for different situations write to us from the contacts section stating the area, the number of tunnels and the loads to be controlled: we will send you the composition and the quotation of the adapted kit.

Do they withstand humidity, misting and treatments?

The climate, light and substrate sensors are IP67, the CO2 sensor and the gateway are IP65: they work permanently in a humid environment. The relay controller goes in the electrical panel. The magnetic contacts are for indoor use: they must be mounted in a position sheltered from dripping water and from direct jets.

Battery life

The climate, CO2, light and substrate sensors have a replaceable lithium battery with a declared life of up to 10 years with one reading every 10 minutes at 25 °C; the magnetic contacts about 5 years. Shorter intervals reduce the life. The charge level is visible in the app.

Where is the data viewed and are there any fees?

On the manufacturer's app and portal, from smartphone and PC, with charts, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. If greenhouse management software or a management system is in place, the gateway can also send the data to that system (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.

What happens if the internet goes down?

The sensors keep measuring and store the readings in memory, the gateway forwards them when the line is restored. The control rules can be loaded onto the gateway, which carries them out even without a connection to the cloud. The loads can always be operated from the manual controls of your panel.

Is an electrician necessary?

Not for the sensors: they are battery powered and are fixed with screws, cable ties or double-sided tape. The relay controller works at 230 V and must be connected in the panel by an electrician, together with the contactors of the loads.

What is not included
  • Extractor fans, motors, shading screens and solenoid valves: they are those of your greenhouse
  • The data SIM, in the version with a 4G gateway
  • The electrical connection of the controller in the panel
  • In the "devices only" version: enclosure, contactors, cables and small parts
