Temperature of two on-board refrigerators recorded continuously, water leaks under the sink, level threshold on the clean and waste water tanks, consumption and control of one 230 V appliance. 4G gateway powered from the vehicle's 12 V: it works while driving and while parked.
What it does
- Two sensors with a stainless steel probe measure the temperature inside the refrigerators and send it every 10 minutes to the on-board gateway. The probe sits in a buffer bottle filled with glass microspheres, which reproduces the thermal inertia of the food and is not affected by the continuous openings during service.
- When the threshold set for each refrigerator is exceeded, the notification arrives on your smartphone: during the transfer, with the vehicle parked in the depot, at night with the refrigerator on a power pedestal.
- The two threshold sensors are applied to the outside of the plastic tanks, without drilling them. They do not measure litres: they indicate whether the water is above or below the height at which the sensing strip is stuck. On the clean water tank the strip goes low down, at the reserve level; on the waste water tank high up, at the emptying level.
- The leak sensor, in the compartment under the sink, reports water on the floor from 0.5 mm, with a built-in buzzer and a notification.
- The metered socket, inserted between the 230 V socket of the vehicle and an appliance, records voltage, current, power and consumption and makes it possible to switch the appliance off and on again from the app.
- The gateway is on board with the sensors and takes the data to the cloud with its SIM: the system does not depend on the place where you stop.
- The temperature history can be consulted from a smartphone and from a PC, with date and time: an automatic record supporting the HACCP self-monitoring plan.

How it is installed
What is in the kit

|---|---|---|
| 1 | Compact LoRaWAN gateway with 4G modem | Collects the data from the on-board sensors and sends it to the cloud with the customer's SIM. |
| 2 | Temperature sensor with stainless steel probe, compliant with EN 12830 | Temperature of each refrigerator from -40 to +125 °C, with a memory of 4,000 readings. |
| 2 | Buffer bottle with glass microspheres | Houses the probe and reproduces the temperature of the food, without false alarms at every opening. |
| 1 | Floor water leak sensor, IP67 | Reports water in the sink compartment from 0.5 mm, with a built-in buzzer. |
| 2 | Level threshold sensor for non-metal tanks | Indicates whether the water is above or below the level of the strip: clean water reserve, waste water overflow. |
| 1 | Metered and controllable socket, Schuko 16 A | Consumption of a 230 V appliance, switching on and off from the app. |

Before you order
Does it work while the vehicle is moving?
Yes. Gateway and sensors travel together: the sensors talk to the gateway by radio from a few metres away and the gateway sends the data with the built-in 4G modem, wherever there is mobile network coverage. A data SIM is required (not included, any operator, micro format, traffic below 1 GB per month).
And at night, with the vehicle switched off?
The sensors are battery powered and always measure. The gateway draws about 3 W: if you connect it to a permanent 12 V supply, for example the service battery, it keeps transmitting even with the ignition off and you receive the alarms of the refrigerator left on the power pedestal. If you connect it on the ignition switch, it stops when the vehicle is switched off: the refrigerator sensors store up to 4,000 readings and retransmit them when it is switched back on.
Do the tank sensors tell me how many litres I have?
No. They are threshold sensors: they indicate whether the level is above or below the point at which the strip is stuck. On the clean water you receive the alert when you drop below the reserve you have chosen; on the waste water the strip goes high up and signals that it is time to empty. They only work on tanks in plastic or another non-metal material, with a smooth wall up to about 3 mm, and they require an initial calibration. For steel tanks, write to us from the contact section.
Is there a gas detector?
No, by choice. The gas detector available in this range measures methane only, whereas food trucks work with LPG: it would be of no use. The kit does not replace the safety devices required for the gas system of the vehicle.
Does it work with any refrigerator?
Yes. The system does not connect to the electronics of the refrigerator: the probe passes through the door gasket and the sensor body stays outside. This applies to upright refrigerators, refrigerated tables, display cabinets and chest freezers, at 12 V or at 230 V. Refrigerators, tanks and electrical appliances are not included: the kit monitors the ones in your set-up.
Are the records valid for HACCP?
The refrigerator sensors comply with the EN 12830 standard on temperature recorders for food and the manufacturer indicates them for the continuous monitoring of critical control points. The system records one reading every 10 minutes and keeps the history with date and time. How to include these records in the self-monitoring plan remains a choice of the HACCP manager.
I have more refrigerators or more than one vehicle
The kit is configured on the set-up: for every extra refrigerator a sensor with probe and buffer bottle is added; every vehicle has its own gateway and all the vehicles are seen in the same app. Write to us from the contact section stating the number of vehicles, refrigerators and tanks: we will send you the composition and the quotation of the adapted kit.
Battery life
With one reading every 10 minutes at 25 °C the manufacturer states about 8 years for the refrigerator sensors; over 10 years for the threshold sensors with three alarms a day; about five and a half years for the button cell of the leak sensor. Shorter intervals reduce the life. The batteries are replaceable and the charge level is visible in the app.
Where is the data consulted and are there any fees?
On the app and on the portal of the manufacturer, from smartphone and PC, with charts, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. If you have HACCP software or a management system, the gateway can also send the data to that system (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.
Is an electrician needed? Do the devices stand water and washing?
For the sensors, no: they are battery powered and are fixed with screws, cable ties or double-sided tape. The gateway must be connected to the 12 V of the vehicle with an adapter and a fuse: a job for the vehicle fitter or auto electrician. Temperature sensors, leak sensor and the body of the level sensors are IP67. Gateway, metered socket and the strips of the level sensors are not watertight: they go inside, at points sheltered from splashes, steam and washing.
What is not included
- Refrigerators, tanks and electrical appliances: they are the ones in your vehicle
- The data SIM for the gateway
- The connection of the gateway to the 12 V system
- In the "devices only" version: 12 V adapter, bracket, protective box, clips and small fittings
