What it does
- The three Shelly Plug IT sockets go into Italian outlets and switch lamps, fan heaters, dehumidifiers or towel rails on and off.
- Each plug measures the consumption of the appliance connected to it: in the app you can see what a fan heater or an old fridge really costs.
- The Shelly H&T Gen3 sensor measures the room's temperature and humidity and shows them in the app.
- A scene switches the electric heater on when the temperature drops below the threshold you set and off when it goes above it.
- Schedules bring the towel rail on in the morning or switch the floor lamps off at night.
- With the Shelly integrations the sockets answer Alexa and Google voice commands.

How it is installed
Wi-Fi network. The sockets and the sensor join the home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi directly, with no hub. Check that the router signal reaches the rooms where you will use the sockets properly, especially a bathroom or a room far away. Keep the network name and password to hand for pairing.
Plug IT sockets. Plug each Shelly Plug IT into an Italian wall socket and plug the appliance into the smart socket. Before using it with a fan heater or a towel rail, check that the appliance's power is within the limit the socket's manufacturer gives. Do not use extension leads or adapters downstream with high-consumption appliances.
Sensor and batteries. The H&T Gen3 sensor runs on AA cells: the kit includes Energizer Ultimate Lithium ones because the sensor's box has no batteries in it. Put it on the wall or on a unit at the height of the people in the room, away from the heater, direct sun and draughts, so it reads the real temperature.
Shelly app. Download the Shelly Smart Control app and add the sockets and the sensor following the wizard. Name each socket after its appliance, such as “bathroom heater” or “living room lamp”. Then link the Shelly account to Alexa or Google Home from the assistant's app, so the devices show up there too.
Recommended automations. Set up a scene: if the temperature read by the H&T drops below 19°C, switch the heater socket on; if it goes above 21°C, switch it off. Add a time window, so the heater only comes on when someone is at home. Use the other two sockets to schedule the towel rail and the floor lamps.
Contents verified. The three Shelly Plug IT sockets and the H&T Gen3 sensor are Shelly Wi-Fi devices managed in the same app, where the sensor's reading drives the sockets. The kit includes the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA cells because the sensor's box does not contain any.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
No. The Shelly devices connect straight to the home Wi-Fi on the 2.4GHz band and are managed in the Shelly Smart Control app. There is no hub to buy: you only need a router with good coverage where the devices are installed.
Does it work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, with the Shelly integrations: you link the Shelly account in the Alexa app or in Google Home and the devices show up ready for voice control and routines. Shelly also works with Home Assistant, for anyone already running the house from there.
Do you need an electrician?
No. The Shelly Plug IT units go into an ordinary Italian wall socket and the sensor runs on batteries. There is no installation wiring to touch: just check that the appliances connected stay within the plug's power limit.
Can I use it with an electric fan heater?
Yes, as long as the heater's power stays within the limit the smart socket's manufacturer states. Use a heater with a thermostat and safety cut-outs, plugged straight into the Plug IT with no extension blocks, and do not leave it near curtains or cloths: it switches on automatically even when you are not in the room.
What happens if there is no internet?
The schedules saved on the sockets carry on working and the key on the socket switches it by hand. Scenes that link the sensor to the sockets, if they were created in the Shelly cloud, resume when the connection comes back, as does control from away.
Can I add more sockets or sensors?
Yes. The Shelly app handles plenty of devices together: you can add more Plug IT sockets, an H&T for each room or relays to sit behind the wall sockets. Get in touch through the contact page for a build we have checked.
Are batteries included?
Yes: the kit holds a pack of four Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA cells for the H&T Gen3 sensor, which does not include them in its own box. The sockets use no batteries, they are powered from the wall socket.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
