What it does
- The smart MCBs Pro 4CB and Pro 2CB protect the circuits like an ordinary 10A C-curve MCB.
- The Shelly app shows the state of every circuit breaker and lets you open or close the lines remotely, within the functions the manufacturer provides.
- The Shelly Pro 3EM uses its clamps to measure consumption and power on each phase and in total.
- The DIN-rail Shelly LAN switch connects the Pro devices to the router by cable, which is more stable than Wi-Fi inside a consumer unit.
- With scenes you can, for example, disconnect a non-priority circuit when a phase is at its limit or get a notification if an MCB trips.

How to install it
Home network. The kit has no hub: the Pro devices connect to the Shelly LAN switch in the consumer unit with the kit's 1-metre leads, and the switch to the router with the 10-metre cable. Wi-Fi remains available as an alternative. Before the work starts, plan a free conduit for the network cable from the consumer unit to the router.
Smart MCBs. The Pro 4CB and Pro 2CB mount on the DIN rail in place of, or next to, the MCBs of the circuits you want to control, compatible with the 10A C curve, and are wired to the manufacturer's diagram. Choosing the circuits and coordinating with the upstream protection is the job of the designer or the installer. The 230V connections in the consumer unit must be made by qualified personnel with the system isolated.
Meter, switch and wiring. The Pro 3EM and the LAN switch mount on DIN rail; the Pro 3EM clamps clip onto the phase conductors downstream of the meter, each on its own phase. The kit includes two 12-module consumer units (11 modules for the devices plus spare ways), the ferrules for the stranded conductors, the Wago connectors for the joints and the network cables.
App and pairing. In the Shelly app, add the Pro devices, which appear on the network once they are connected to the switch. Give every MCB the name of the circuit it protects. Check that the Pro 3EM's phases match those in the consumer unit and that the power is positive when there is consumption.
Recommended automations. Turn on notifications for MCB trips and for power peaks on each phase. Pick a non-priority circuit to be disconnected automatically when a phase approaches its limit. Restrict app access to the people in the house and keep remote control only for the circuits that do not feed critical equipment.
Contents verified. The Pro 4CB, the Pro 2CB and the Pro 3EM belong to the Shelly Pro line with a network port, and the DIN-rail Shelly LAN switch links them to the router by cable; all of them are managed in the same app. The kit includes two 12-module consumer units (11 DIN modules plus spare ways), ferrules, Wago connectors, patch leads for inside the board and a 10 m cable to the router.

Before you order
Do you need a hub?
No. The Pro devices connect to the router through the LAN switch included, by cable, or over Wi-Fi. The Shelly devices in the kit connect straight to the home Wi-Fi router and are managed from the Shelly app, on a smartphone or in a browser. Good Wi-Fi coverage is needed at the consumer unit: metal enclosures and cellars weaken it.
Does it work with Alexa, Google or Apple?
The kit is managed from the Shelly app, with charts and consumption history. Through Shelly's integrations the devices can be brought into Alexa and Google Home, for example to switch off a load by voice. Readings and energy-based automations are best kept in the Shelly app.
Do you need an electrician?
Yes. The devices mount in the distribution board or in a small enclosure next to it and connect to the 230V line: the work must be done by qualified personnel with the system switched off. The kit gives the installer the enclosure, ferrules and connectors needed for tidy wiring.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The MCBs go on protecting the circuits like any other MCB, and the metering carries on. The devices stay reachable from the app on the local network; without internet you cannot control them from outside the home and cloud scenes may not run.
Can I add more devices?
Yes. In the same app you can add metering plugs, 1PM relays for other loads and meters for further circuits. Write to us from the contact page if you would like a kit built around your own consumer unit.
Do I need to buy any batteries?
No. Every device in the kit runs off mains power and uses no batteries. So there are no spares to keep at home and no charge levels to check: if the power goes off, the devices stop and start again on their own when it comes back.
Do the smart MCBs replace the RCD?
No. The Pro 4CB and Pro 2CB are 10A C-curve MCBs and provide no residual current protection. The RCD and the other protective devices in the consumer unit remain the ones specified in the system design and are not included in the kit.
What if a product is out of stock on Amazon?
