Temperature and humidity at three heights on each rack, leaks under the air conditioner and under the raised floor, opening of the rack and room doors, current on the two PDU lines. Battery-powered sensors, LoRaWAN radio transmission independent of the data network, alarms on your smartphone.
What it does
- Six sensors measure temperature and humidity at the air intake, at three heights for each rack: you see the stratification, the hot spot at the top and the effect of an air conditioner that is not keeping up.
- When the temperature or humidity thresholds are exceeded, a notification is sent to your smartphone, day and night.
- Three floor leak sensors, under the air conditioner and at the low points, trigger with 0.5 mm of water and also sound on the spot. The sensitive membrane covers an area under the raised floor, where the condensate or chilled water pipe runs.
- Four magnetic contacts detect the opening of the rack and room doors: every opening stays in the history with date and time, and those outside working hours generate a notification.
- Two clamp meters read the current on the A and B lines of the PDUs: the load of each line, the imbalance between the two, a line that drops to zero.
- History, charts and notifications can be consulted from a smartphone and from a PC, and the data can be sent to the monitoring system already in use.

Available sizes
The size is selected above, together with the version and the connectivity. The diagram, the photo and the table above show the «2 racks» size; with the other sizes only the quantities of the devices listed below change, the rest of the kit is identical.
- 2 racks: 6 temperature and humidity sensors, 4 magnetic contacts, 2 clamp current meters up to 100 A
- 4 racks: 12 temperature and humidity sensors, 6 magnetic contacts, 4 clamp current meters up to 100 A
- 6 racks: 18 temperature and humidity sensors, 8 magnetic contacts, 6 clamp current meters up to 100 A
In the complete kit, the installation material linked to these devices (brackets, boxes, clips, cables, enclosures) follows the chosen size. For a different size, write to us from the contact section.
Available connectivity options
- Customer network (Ethernet/Wi-Fi): 1 compact indoor LoRaWAN gateway
- Integrated 4G: 1 compact LoRaWAN gateway with 4G. SIM not included; alarms independent of the company network
- Large building: 1 semi-industrial LoRaWAN gateway. More range, IP65, PoE: for floor cabinets distributed across the building
In the complete kit, the material for the gateway (network cable, pole, PoE injector) changes accordingly. The SIM for the 4G versions is not included.
Choose the version
- The Milesight devices in the table
- Installation guide and initial configuration
- For those who already have a network cable and fastening material
- Everything in the basic version
- 5 m Cat6 network cable to connect the gateway to the switch
- Wall plugs, screws, double-sided tape, cable ties and adhesive cable guides in double supply, for sensors, contacts and gateway
- Numbered labels for devices and lines, installation diagram
Before you order
The gateway goes on my network: what does it need?
An Ethernet port on the switch or the Wi-Fi, with a route out to the internet: it talks to the manufacturer's cloud or to your server. The sensors touch neither the LAN nor the Wi-Fi, they transmit to the gateway on a separate radio. If you prefer to keep the monitoring outside the company network, the version with a 4G gateway is available, which requires a data SIM (not included, any operator, traffic below 1 GB per month). It is chosen when ordering.
If the network goes down or there is no power in the room, do the alarms arrive?
The sensors are battery-powered and keep measuring; the leak sensors sound on the spot in any case. The notifications, however, go through the gateway: it must be powered on a UPS and, in the basic version, it needs the switch, the router and the internet line to be working. With the 4G version the notifications are sent even when the company network is down, as long as the gateway is powered.
Does it also cover the floor cabinets outside the room?
The compact gateway is designed for the room and the nearby rooms: the racks are metal masses and the sensors inside them must be kept on the door side. For floor cabinets distributed over several floors, thick walls or several buildings there is the «large building» variant, with a gateway of greater range, IP65 and able to be powered via PoE. One gateway handles hundreds of sensors.
Where do the temperature sensors go: front or back?
The kit is designed for the intake, at the front, at three heights: this is the temperature the devices receive, and it is the one the alarm is set on. If you also want the temperature rise, you can move one sensor per rack to the back, at the exhaust, or add more. The reading interval can be set from 1 minute; the default value is 10 minutes.
How are the PDU lines measured?
Each meter is a split-core clamp that closes around the phase conductor of the line that feeds the PDU, in the room switchboard: not around the whole supply cable, because phase and neutral together cancel each other out. It measures the current up to 100 A; the energy is an estimate calculated with the voltage and power factor set, not a billing-grade measurement. It is powered from the line itself and needs a load of at least 1.5 A; if the line drops it has a reserve of about 12 hours. For three-phase lines one clamp per phase is needed. Switchboard, PDUs and UPS are not included.
I have more than 2 racks or more rooms
Among the product options you will find the 2, 4 and 6 rack sizes: for each pair of racks, six temperature sensors, two door contacts and two current meters are added; the gateway and the platform stay the same. For more rooms, floor cabinets or different compositions, write to us from the contact section stating the number of racks, rooms and electrical lines: we will send you the composition and the quotation for the adapted kit.
Battery life
Temperature sensors and membrane sensor: up to 10 years declared, the former with one reading every 10 minutes. Compact leak sensors: over 5 years with a button cell. Magnetic contacts: about 5 years. Shorter intervals reduce the life. The charge level is visible in the app.
Where is the data consulted and are there any subscription fees?
On the manufacturer's app and portal, from a smartphone and a PC, with charts, thresholds and notifications; no fee for basic use. If there is an infrastructure monitoring system or a management software, the gateway can also send the data to that system (MQTT or HTTP): the configuration is included.
Is an electrician needed?
Only for the two current clamps, which are fitted in the switchboard around the conductors of the lines: nothing is disconnected, but the work is done with the switchboard open. Everything else is battery-powered and is fastened with double-sided tape, cable ties or two screws; the gateway is connected to a network port and to a USB-C power supply.
Degree of protection
The temperature sensors, the leak sensors and the body of the membrane sensor are IP67. The gateway and the current meters are IP30 and the magnetic contacts IP20: they are indoor devices, suitable for a server room, technical rooms and switchboards.
What is not included
