Class T fuse holder

The base the fuse needs, and where the battery cable actually lands

160V DC · two ranges, 110-200A and 225-400A · surface mount

A Class T fuse has two bolt holes and nothing else: on its own it connects to nothing. This holder is the part that carries it and that the power cable is bolted to. It mounts on a flat surface, keeps the fuse accessible for inspection, and is rated 160V DC.

Check the stud size before you order. The 110-200A holder has M6 cable studs. That is fine up to about 35mm², but it is not suitable for 50 and 70mm² lugs: for those cross-sections use the 225-400A holder, or the Victron Lynx Class-T Power In with its M10 busbar. The fuse is not included in either case.

Which one for your cable

Work backwards from the lug, not from the current. With 50 or 70mm² battery cable the only sensible choice in this pair is the 225-400A holder. The smaller one is for secondary circuits and lighter cable. If you are building around a Lynx busbar anyway, the Victron Lynx Class-T Power In takes lugs up to 120mm² and carries two fuses, which usually works out neater than two separate holders.

How it mounts

  • Fix the holder to a flat surface, leaving room to get a spanner on both studs.
  • Land the power cable on the cable stud with a ring lug, torqued to the maker's figure.
  • Fit the fuse across the two fuse studs with the system isolated.
  • Keep the cover on in service: the studs are live and uninsulated.

MEGA, Class T or NH: which fuse to choose

Three fuse families are actually used on the DC side of a 48V battery system, and they are interchangeable neither mechanically nor in performance.
