The WattKit ELE-WK-DC-4S-T2 pre-wired DC combiner box is the 4 string version of the WattKit array box: it arrives already assembled and wired, with the Type 2 surge protective devices (3 poles, 20–40 kA, 1000 V DC) and the fuse holders on the positive and negative conductor of each string, as shown in the manufacturer's diagram.
It sits between the PV array and the inverter and is designed for larger residential plants or small commercial installations, typically where the strings come from several roof sections. String cables are terminated with MC4 connectors, while a cable gland and a dedicated terminal are provided for earthing. The enclosure has an IP65 protection rating and an operating temperature from −25 to +60 °C, so it is also suitable for outdoor mounting.
