AC Combiner Box 40 A Three-Phase with Type 2 SPD for Inverter Connection
Alternating current combiner box dedicated to the connection of the inverter to the grid in large three-phase photovoltaic systems. It is installed on the AC side, between the inverter output and the distribution board, and forms the single point where line protection and surge protection are gathered.
It contains a 40 A miniature circuit breaker for overload and short-circuit protection of the three-phase line, with an isolation function, and a DEHN brand Type 2 surge protective device, a German manufacturer specialising in surge and lightning protection. The class II SPD limits transient surges induced by indirect lightning strikes and by grid switching operations. On a 400 V three-phase grid, 40 A corresponds roughly to inverters up to about 27.7 kW.
