AC Combiner Box Three-Phase 20 A with Type 2 SPD and 100 mA Type A RCD
The alternating current combiner box is the protection and isolation board installed on the AC side of a photovoltaic system, between the three-phase inverter output and the building's main board. It encloses in a single watertight wall-mounted housing all the protections required for connecting the photovoltaic generator in parallel with the distribution grid, avoiding the need to assemble several DIN rail devices on site.
Inside there are a Type 2 surge protective device (SPD), which discharges to earth the overvoltages induced by indirect lightning strikes and by grid switching operations, protecting the inverter electronics, a 20 A three-phase miniature circuit breaker for overload and short-circuit protection and for isolating the line, and a 100 mA Type A residual current device, also sensitive to the pulsating unidirectional fault currents typical of static converters.
