DC Combiner Box 1000 V with Type 1+2 SPD for 2 Photovoltaic Strings and 2 MPPT
This DC-side combiner box is installed between the photovoltaic modules and the inverter, typically close to the inverter itself or at the foot of the string, and is designed for 2 photovoltaic strings connected to 2 independent MPPT inputs. It is rated for systems with a string voltage of up to 1000 V DC, the typical value of small and medium-sized residential and commercial installations.
Inside is a Type 1+2 surge protective device, that is, a combined limiter that unites the ability to discharge direct lightning current (Type 1) with protection against induced transient surges (Type 2). It is the correct choice when the building is equipped with a lightning protection system (LPS) or when the modules are installed in particularly exposed areas. The box thus protects the DC inputs of the inverter and the modules themselves against the voltage peaks travelling along the string cables.
