DC Combiner Box 1000 V with Type 2 SPD for 2 Strings and 2 MPPT
The DC combiner box is installed on the DC side of the photovoltaic system, between the module strings and the inverter inputs. This version is wired for two independent strings on two separate MPPT inputs: the strings remain electrically distinct, so each one can work at its own maximum power point even with different orientations, tilts or shading.
Protection is provided by two Phoenix Contact Type 2 surge protective devices (SPD) for photovoltaics, one for each string, rated for a working voltage of up to 1000 V DC. The surge arresters divert to earth the impulses induced by indirect lightning strikes, limiting the residual voltage at the inverter inputs. The string connections are made with original Stäubli MC4 connectors.
