The QDC2I-1000 is the DC combiner box that sits between the PV modules and the inverter: it collects 2 strings independent and delivers a protected, switchable line downstream, with a working voltage up to 1000 V DC.
Inside the enclosure you find overcurrent protection on the poles of every string, the surge arrester for atmospheric discharges and the on-load disconnector that lets you open the array before any work on the system. The board is delivered pre-wired and tested: on site you only connect the incoming string cables and the inverter on the output.
