KENO SM-PV photovoltaic module simulator for inverter commissioning
The SM-PV simulator is a programmable constant-current power supply that takes the place of the PV strings when they are missing or not producing enough: it connects to the inverter DC input and feeds it the voltage and current it needs to start up.
It earns its keep at the worst moment of an installer's day: commissioning after sunset, or in autumn and spring when the days are short and the system is finished but the irradiance is no longer enough to start the inverter. With the simulator, configuration, communication tests and commissioning happen anyway, without a second trip to site the next day.

The simulator delivers 0.7 A: it is meant to start and configure the inverter, not to test it at power. Check the inverter manual for the minimum start-up voltage, which must fall within the 143-286 V range.
