Fronius CT V 100 A/333 mV Current Transformer for Smart Meter IP
The Fronius Smart Meter CT V 100 A/333 mV is a split-core current transformer (CT) with a 100 A primary and a 333 mV voltage output. Thanks to the split-core technology it is installed around the phase conductor without having to interrupt it, simplifying the work on systems already in operation.
It is the measuring accessory of the Fronius Smart Meter IP and Smart Meter WR meters, which are thus used in indirect measurement on larger systems, where the current exceeds the range of direct measurement. On a three-phase system three transformers are needed, one per phase, connected to a single Smart Meter; the 333 mV voltage signal is inherently safer than CTs with a current secondary, because it does not generate dangerous voltages if the secondary circuit is left open.
